Competing players 32 in singles qualifying, 28 in singles main draw (4 qualifiers, 4 wild cards), 16 pairs in doubles main draw

Playing times Due to the Fed Cup play-off tie between Porsche Team Germany and Ukraine, matches during the qualifying weekend will be played on match courts 1 and 2 in the village. Play begins on Saturday, 22. April at 10.00 hrs (all times are local) and on Sunday, 23 April, at 11.00 hrs.

The matches will also be played in the village on Montag, 24 April starting at 11.00 hrs. Play will begin in the Porsche Arena at 12:00 hrs daily from Tuesday 25 April to Thursday 27 April. The quarterfinal matches on Friday, 28 April will commence at 14:00 hrs. The first semi-final on Saturday, 29 April will go on court at 13:30 hrs and the final will begin on Sunday, Sonntag, 30 April at 15:00 hrs. The doubles final will take place beforehand, starting at 12.30 hrs. Television (subject to change) The Porsche Tennis Grand Prix will be televised live by Sport 1 and the regional SWR channel. SWR will broadcast live from the Porsche Arena from Tuesday to Thursday from 12.00 to 16.00 hrs and will show the first quarterfinal on Friday at 14:00 hrs and the first semi-final on Saturday at 16:00 hrs. The final will be televised from 15:00 hrs on Sunday.

Sport 1 will show a match starting at 18:30 hrs on both Wednesday and Thursday plus the third quarterfinal on Friday at 18.30 hrs and the second semi-final on Saturday also at 18:30 hrs.

German news channel N-tv will show a daily 30 minutes highlights feature starting on Wednesday until Sunday at 0:10 hrs.

First Porsche Tennis Grand Prix First played in 1978, it is Europe’s oldest women’s indoor tournament. The first winner was the American who went on to win the next three Grand Prix.

The most successful players With six wins to her name, (USA) is the most successful player in the history of the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix. Behind her are Tracy Austin (USA) and Martina Hingis (SUI) on four wins apiece, (RUS) and (USA) with three wins and Anke Huber (GER), (BEL), (BEL) and Angelique Kerber (GER), who have each won twice.

German winners Three German players have been able to win the tournament to date: Anke Huber (1991 and 1994), Julia Görges (2011) and Angelique Kerber (2015 and 2016).

Men’s tournament The only Porsche Tennis Grand Prix for men was held in 1979. Two Porsche Grand Prix took place that year. For the record: the Pole Wojtek Fibak beat the Argentine Guillermo Vilas in the final and won a Porsche 928.
