2016 JR B Tier 1 Division Commissioner Report Growth and Recruitment The JR B Tier 1 Division added 1 team is now up to 12 teams. There are 6 teams in the North Division Edmonton Warriors, Sherwood Park Titans, Red Deer Rampage, Fort Saskatchewan Rebels, St Albert Crude, Saskatchewan Swat. There are 6 teams in the South Division Calgary Chill, Calgary Shamrocks, Calgary Mountaineers, Okotoks Marauders, Rockyview Silvertips, Manitoba Blizzard. We play a 20 game schedule 10 Home Games and 10 Away Games. The Division is up to 284 players playing in 3 Provinces Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba. Season Overview The Schedule for the 2016 Season work well as the number of games stayed the same. Travel still needs to be discussed for our out of Province games. Teams were well prepared this year as games were closer and there were less call up needed per teams. The Live Score Board updates were better for the Division. We played more weekdays games as well which worked. Accomplishments The Manitoba Blizzard win the 2016 RMLL Championship Weekend. The North Semi Final was close as the Red Deer Rampage beat out The Sherwood Park Titans The South Semi Final Calgary Shamrocks beat out the Calgary Chill. The East Semi Final Manitoba Blizzard over the Saskatchewan Swat. This set the Weekend in Calgary with The Chill Hosting the winners in the 2016 Provincial Championship Weekend. The Semi Final Game it was the Manitoba Blizzard 9 and the Red Deer Rampage 6 The Final was Manitoba Blizzard 8 and the Calgary Chill 6 Would like to Thank the Calgary Chill for Hosting the 2016 Provincial Weekend a job well done. The Calgary Chill will go to the Founders Cup 2016 in Orangeville Ontario as the Alberta Champion. Season Set Backs The Division needs to work harder to make sure our coaches are all certified so all can coach in the playoffs and also the Founders Cup. Future Goals We as a Division can work harder to make our Division stronger going forward. Overall a very good year in the JR B Tier 1 Division look forward to seeing everyone at the AGM this year. Canada’s top female athletes will take on the world 2015 Player Transfers 3 vying for gold against long-time rivals from the United States and Australia, amongst other countries. 2015 is The Year of Sport in Canada 3 Two‐Time Team Canada Member 4 Last weekend marked the conclusion of the selection process for Canada’s 2015 National Tragically Passes Away Team which began 12 months ago as scouts across Canada evaluated and put forth Stephen Taylor Appointed Women’s 4 recommendations on athletes from the applicant pool. From all the player applications Chair of Officiating and scout evaluations, the top 60 applicants received an invitation to try out for Team Meet Deb Stocks ‐ CLA’s New Men's Field 4 Canada U-19. Over the last year two selection camps were held with a third and final Sector Chair camp taking place just last weekend. Founders Cup 2014 Halifax NS
Founders Cup 2014 Halifax NS I was the ALA Representative at the 2014 Founders Cup. As the ALA Rep I had to report to Doug Luey who was the CLA Convenor for the 2014 Founders Cup with any questions he might have for team Alberta. I sat on the Discipline committee with Dave Veron from the OLA and Doug Luey. We only had 1 issue to deal with and that was with a Coach from Six Nations who ended up with a 2 game suspension for his actions. The host committee group lead by Kevan Mills did a real good job keeping all the teams happy. Transportation seemed to work fine for the teams to make it to the rink on time. All the games were played at the Halifax Forum once they got the lights turned up the rink seemed fine. I did not think the games were well attended not many people in the stands. There were 3 teams from the RMLL. TBS Rampage Alberta, Swat Saskatoon, Blizzard Manitoba The start of the games TBS Rampage played Nova Scotia Rampage came up short in a 10-9 Loss to start the 2014 Founders Cup. Game 2 TBS Rampage played Saskatchewan Swat and came away with 10-7 Win good game back and forth. Game 3 TBS Rampage played Seneca War Chiefs form the ILA they battled to a 8-8 Tie good come back game. Game 4 TBS Rampage played the Six Nation Rebels game was 15-5 for the Rebels still a good game to watch and learn.

The Canadian Lacrosse Association’S Jr
An exciting highlight of the upcoming 2015 Calgary lacrosse season will be the Founders Cup - the Canadian Lacrosse Association’s Jr. B. National Championship, being hosted by the Calgary Mountaineers Jr. B. Lacrosse Club. This is the first time this prestigious National Championship has been hosted in Southern Alberta. The games will be played at the Max Bell Arena from August 17-23, 2015. We want to show the rest of Canada that special brand of Western Hospitality that has made Calgary famous and we need YOUR help to do it. The Hosting Committee is looking for approximately 120 lacrosse-loving ambassadors to help with a variety of tasks. There is something for everyone who wants to get involved. Volunteer roles include, for example, working at the door or silent auction table, selling 50/50 tickets or tournament merchandise, providing on site information or security services, assisting teams in their dressing rooms, being involved in game operations and logistics or helping with various statistics, website, social media and other administrative roles. We are looking for volunteers who are prepared to commit to a minimum of 3-4 shifts during the week, with each shift being between 4 and 8 hours depending upon the role.
