PUBLIC CONSULTATION 13.1 Introduction The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, (MoEF&CC) Government of India issued Environmental Impact Assessment notification S.O. 1533 dated September 16, 2006 and S.O. 1599(E) dated June 25, 2014 mandating prior environmental clearance for manufacture of (Synthetic Organic Chemicals) industry under category ‘B’ for projects with water consumption less than 25 m3/day, fuel consumption less than 25 TPD and not covered in the category of MAH units as per the Management, Storage and Import of Hazardous Chemical Rules, 1989” located outside notified industrial area/estate. The proposed project of Sri Kusuma Haranadha Agro Fural Limited, Unit-II, is located at Sy. No. 116/1, 119/3, 120/7, 118/2, 119/3, 98/4, 117/2, 119/6, 120/2 & 120/5 Allivedu Revenue Village, Vijaya Rai Panchayath, Pedavegi Mandal, West Godavari district, Andhra Pradesh. The proponents obtained the terms of reference from the AP SEIAA, which mandated public consultation vide letter no Lr. No. SEIAA/AP/W.G./IND/03/2017/291 dated 04.05.2017. Accordingly, the draft Environmental Impact Assessment was submitted to Regional Officer, Andhra Pradesh Pollution Control Board, Regional Office, Eluru for conducting public hearing. The public hearing for the proposed Synthetic Organic Chemicals manufacturing unit was conducted on 10.04.2018 near the industry site. The public hearing was chaired by Sri MD. Hasim Shariff, Additional Joint Collector, Eluru, West Godavari District and Sri S. Venkateswarlu, Environmental Engineer, Andhra Pradesh Pollution Control Board, Regional office, Eluru, West Godavari district. 13.2 Advertisement Press notification regarding the date, time and venue of the Environmental public hearing for the proposed expansion was issued in “Andhra Jyothi” (Telugu daily) and “The Indian Express” (English daily) newspapers on 09.03.2018.
