2008-09 Hofstra University Wrestling Roster against Old Dominion in CAA Duals, 17-15. Hofstra’s conference undefeated streak ended at 63 matches (62-0-1) and their winning streak was snapped at 60. Prior to the ODU loss the Pride’s last conference loss came on February 17, 1999 when the Broncs of Rider beat the Pride, 28-10, in an East Coast Wrestling Association (ECWA) match. • The Pride has won 22 of its last 32 home matches dating back to the start of the 2003-04 season. HOFSTRA THIS SEASON: The Pride is 10-6 in dual matches this season with victories over Wagner (53-0), #7 Penn State (18- 2008-09 HOFSTRA 15) Binghamton (37-3), North Carolina State (31-6), Boston UNIVERSITY WRESTLING University ( 38-3), Rider (23-12), Sacred Heart (40-9), Drexel (30-10), Buffalo (24-13) and Harvard (31-11), and losses to #5 Missouri (22-12), #21 Old Dominion (17-15), #5 Ohio State (19- # 23 HOFSTRA PRIDE (10-6) 13), Penn (18-16), #3 Cornell (12-27) and #13 Edinboro. Hofstra opened their 2008-09 season at the Brockport Oklahoma Gold at Classic on November 8, placing fifth in the eight-team field. Nine 2009 CAA WRESTLING CHAMPIONSHIPS Pride wrestlers placed in the top five, including two champions Friday & Saturday, March 6-7, 2009 and four finalists, at the Missouri Open. Sophomore Joe Fagiano, Oscar Smith High School - Chesapeake, VA at 197, and freshman Jordan Enck, at 285, captured titles.
