➢ French Composer. Dates: 1875-1937

➢ He was one of the most important people associated with Impressionist Music.

➢ Daphnis et Chloe is an opera, based of the Greek book of the same name.

➢ Born in Dallas, Texas. Dates: 1908-1954

➢ A great trumpet player from the Swing Era, has largely been forgotten as he died a mysteriously at a young age.

Ludwig van Beethoven 9th Symphony, 4th movement “Ode to Joy”

➢ One of the most famous and influential composers of all time.

➢ The “Ode to Joy” at the end of the 9th Symphony includes a Choir (rare for a symphonic concert), and is said to be a final celebration of Beethoven’s life.
