Are you going to ? Curious if you are saved or not?

Have you ever questioned yourself and wondered where will your eternal destiny be after you die? Ever wonder if heaven or are actually real places and if you will end up in either place? Not sure, then this message is for you.

QUESTION: Have you come to the place in your life that you know for certain that if you were to die today that you would go to heaven? IF… something happened to you tonight or a long time from now, would you have eternal life with ?

QUESTION: If you were to die today and find yourself standing before a heavenly guarding the gates of heaven and he was to say to you, “Why should I let you into heaven?” WHAT WOULD YOU SAY?

 If you respond, “I have in my heart,” or “Jesus died on the cross and rose from the dead to give me life,” or “I received Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior and He changed my life,” or something similar to that, wonderful! You are Born Again (:3). You are trusting in Christ Jesus and you will enter heaven’s gates!

 If your response was something similar to, “Well, I so,” or “Well, I was baptized when I was young,” or I’ve been going to all my life and done many of things,” or “Well, I’m not sure, but I’ve helped many people in my life so I hope my good deeds will outweigh the bad that I’ve done,” or with something similar, then you are trusting in your SELF-effort or your good works to enter heaven. According to the bible, this type of person is considered “self-righteous” and will not enter heaven.

Due to ’s , we are all considered sinful and separated from God, so we cannot know Him personally or experience His Love and plan (Rom. 3:23; Rom. 5:12). There is a great gulf between God and mankind.

Has anyone told you today that God loves you and that He has a plan for your life? Well, God does Love you regardless of what you’ve done in your life and regardless if you think you are not worthy to receive His Love. He freely gives it as a gift to all mankind. His Love is not dependent upon you feeling worthy or accepted, it is simply because He Loves.

To reconcile the great gulf between God and mankind, Jesus Christ is God’s ONLY provision for our sin. Through Him alone we can know God personally and experience God’s Love and His plan for our lives. You and I inherited the “sin” of Adam, and because of this you are I inherited his sin and are guilty before God. However, Jesus took your place and paid the penalty for your “sin,” which is eternal . On the cross, He physically and spiritually died for all of us.

Romans 5:8 – “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

1 Corinthians 15:3-4 – “For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our according to the Scriptures, 4 that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures,”

Why did Jesus die? Romans 3:23 – “for all have sinned and fall short of the of God,”

Ephesians 2:8-9 says, “For it is by grace you have been saved, through —and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast.”

So, what should I do now?

Receive Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior – John 1:12 – “Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.”

We receive Jesus by personal invitation where we ask Jesus to come into your heart. Receiving Jesus Christ involves turning to God from “SELF.” To agree intellectually that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and that He died on the cross for our sins is not enough. We receive Jesus Christ by faith, as an act of your will.

God knows your heart and is NOT concerned with your words as He is with the attitude of your heart. I’ll offer the following as a suggested . I hope this prayer expresses the desire of your heart.

“Lord Jesus, I want to know you personally and ask you to come into my heart and draw me closer to you, my Heavenly Father. I know I cannot get to heaven by my own effort. Thank you for dying on the cross and paying the penalty for my sin. You died, buried, and rose from the dead to justify my freedom to live for you. Thank you for forgiving me the sins and giving me eternal life with You. I give you control of my life. Now, help me to become the person You want me to be, in the name of Jesus. Amen”

Now it is certain that you will go to heaven. You belong to the family of God (Gal. 4:6,7) .

I ask you to do two things:

1 – Tell someone that you saved, born again, and that you’ve received Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior; and, 2 - Find a good church where you will be taught the Word of God. Be faithful to read and study your bible.

I welcome you to the family of God as my brother/sister. Now, live everyday trusting God with the goal of deepening your relationship with Him.

Please let me know of your decision to accept Christ into your life ([email protected]). If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask me or someone you trust who also loves Jesus.
