PROFILE

Sydney based DOP/Lighting Cameraman who has been involved in the television industry for over 17 years. The last 15 years shooting a variety projects in over 40 countries.

Jason’s skill has been recognized by the Australian Cinematographers Society honouring him with ACS Accreditiation, it highest honour.

DOP/ Lighting Cameraman Jan 2014 – Present Various projects locally and internationally. DOP – Rio Olympic Games for the Seven Network. This included two different lead up series, TVC’s, Athlete Profiles, Promo’s as well as leading the team in Rio. DOP – The Embassy (Season 1) DOP – Village Vets DOP – Longines (watches) Horse Racing in UK and France DOP – Victorian Racing Club Cup Tour Camera Op - My Kitchen Rules, House Rules (Seven Productions), The NRL Rookie (McGuire Media), Australian Open and Wimbledon (Seven), What Really Happens In Thailand (McAvoy Media), Autumn Racing Carnival (Seven), Melbourne Cup Carnival (Seven), Sunday Night (Seven), 60 Minutes (Nine).

DOP/ Lighting Cameraman Apr 2009 – Dec 2013 DOP for one Australia's leading Public Affairs programs, the Seven Network's Sunday Night. Filmed extensively both in Australia and overseas on a wide range of stories, the devastation of the Japan and Christchurch earthquakes to the elusive Blue Whale, in extreme conditions on the ice of the Arctic, to atop some of the world’s most active volcanoes, the beauty of Great Pyramids of Egypt, into the depths of the Amazon and African jungles to the catwalks of Paris. Re-enactments were a big part of the show.

Additional projects worked on in 2012 included the French Open (ITV), Wimbledon (Seven Network), Foxtel Olympics (Features & Promos), Wide World of Sports, NRL and Horse Racing ().

Senior Cameraman – 7 Sport Apr 2002 – February 2009 The role involved the shooting of Features, News & Colour stories as well as Links/Hosting’s for various Magazine Programs and Major Sporting events. The position also required the shooting of Opening Title’s, Network Promo’s, Athlete Profile’s, ISO’s of various sports and Sales pieces. Features were not just about sport but they were about ‘the people’, ‘the culture’, ‘the cities/towns’, and ‘the events’. From The Great Wall of China to Fashion at the Melbourne Cup, there is a story to be told and as a Features cameraman that’s what I did. ENG Cameraman/Editor - 7 News Dec 2000 – Apr 2002 Shot and edited daily News packages locally and internationally, shot ‘live crosses’ and operated Link Vans. News Edit involved working in Network Transfers, Foreign Transfers & Edit and the editing of daily News packages. Required to edit in the field on a Laptop Edit packs

Freelance Camera Operator – Sydney Dec 1999 – Dec 2000 I worked a range of projects including News, Sport, Corporates, multi camera Outside Broadcasts ranging from sport to music concerts.

Southern Cross Television – Tasmania Nov 1996 – Nov 1999 Duties included the shooting and editing of daily News stories, produce and shoot Features and Docos. Also worked in videotape, studio camera and even built sets.
