Community Grant Program 2007/08

The St John Ambulance - Goulburn Division 4WD ambulance. The Bradley van Heythusen Memorial Trust for Youth Inc/ skatepark at . The Veolia Mulwaree Trust provided grant funds and donations to 53 community groups and organisations in 2007/08 valued at more than $1,008,000.

Southern Tablelands Regional Library introduced The Parkesbourne Yarra Landcare Group undertook an upgrade of their tennis court and surrounding area audio-read navigators for the visually impaired. and revived the area for use by residents and visitors.

Bradley van Heythusen Funding contribution toward the construction of a new Memorial Trust for Youth skatepark as part of the community’s Bungendore $70,000 Inc (Palerang Council) Youth Recreation Project. Cancer Council - Relay for Donation to the 2007 Goulburn ‘Relay for Life’ $5,000 Life fundraising event. Convoy for Kids Goulburn Donation to the 2007 Convoy for Kids fundraising $5,000 Inc event. Country Women’s Funds towards upgrading of the flooring of front entry $7,000 Association Goulburn and rooms at the CWA building in Montague Street. Funds towards the restoration of two World War I Friends of the Goulburn cannons of high significance to the Goulburn War $7,568 War Memorial Museum Memorial Museum. Goulburn Mulwaree District Funds towards the purchase of a Welfare Trailer for $19,189 Bushfire Groups use by all local brigades. Funds to be distributed as scholarships to Goulburn & Goulburn and District District young people applicants entering further $10,000 Education Foundation Inc education. Goulburn and District Donation to continue in supporting local MS sufferers to $3,000 Multiple Sclerosis Branch maintain their independence. Funding towards the purchase of showjumping Goulburn and District Show equipment and a custom-made trailer to transport the $15,922 Jumping Club equipment to competitions. Funds to provide 150 special needs children and their Goulburn AP and H Society families with an opportunity to attend the 2008 $2,000 Goulburn Show via a steam train ride from . Goulburn Base Hospital - Funds to assist with the purchase of 10 purpose Greater Southern Area specific patient trolleys for the Day Procedure Unit and $95,341 Health Service Endoscopy Unit at Goulburn Base Hospital. Goulburn Challenge Funds to assist with the purchase of new bus fitted $7,000 Foundation Inc with a wheelchair lift for two chairs. Funds towards establishing an observatory for astronomy education which will benefit students at Goulburn High School $45,704 Goulburn High School and other schools and community groups throughout the district. Funding for the establishment of an interactive learning Goulburn High School and garden area at Goulburn Public School as part of $2,000 the Red Cross Youth Challenge Project. Funding towards the Club’s 50th anniversary gymkhana Goulburn Pony Club $3,000 celebrations. Goulburn Prostate Cancer Donation to assist in supporting local Prostate Cancer $5,000 Support Group sufferers. Hannah McKellar Trust Donation to the Hannah McKellar Appeal. $3,000 Funding towards Annual Art Scholarships Program Jennifer Lamb Veolia ($30,000 over three years, $10,000 per year) for an Creative Arts Scholarship $10,000 emerging artist and a practicing artist to develop a Program body of work. Juvenile Diabetes Research Donation to support Australian research to find a cure $5,000 Foundation for type 1 diabetes. Funding to assist with the Legacy Lodge refurbishment Legacy Club of Goulburn $50,000 project to provide greater comfort to war widows. Funds toward upgrading the St Saviours Cathedral Hall St Saviours Cathedral side entrance, incorporating a covered access to toilet $16,790 facilities in the Parish Hall. Funds toward the fit-out of the new wing of the Tallong Tallong Rural Fire Brigade $16,729 Fire Shed. Funds toward Tarago Preschool’s capital works Tarago Preschool $20,430 program, specifically the new office extension. Taralga and District Funds toward building a new livestock pen sand arena $18,200 Showground Coop Ltd complex at the showgrounds. Funding toward equipment to maintain the Taralga Golf Taralga Golf Club $12,602 Course and other Taralga sport and recreation areas. Taralga Historical Society Funds toward the installation of a water tank $2,975 Inc sympathetic with existing heritage shed. Funding toward the purchase of equipment and two The Spastic Centre of ACT new programs ‘Splash and Play’ and ‘Hot Kidz’ for local $20,000 and Southern Districts children. Funds toward extensions to Wingello Rural Fire Shed Wingello Rural Fire Brigade which will provide an operations room and reception $15,000 area.
