Women’s Ice Hockey News & Notes 2011-12 Saint Anselm Women’s Ice Hockey SCOUTING SAINT ANSELM - The Saint Anselm College women’s ice hockey SENIOR team dropped both of its games last week, falling by a 4-3 margin to Salve Regina on Friday in overtime and dropping a 3-2 decision to Holy Cross SAMI TATU on Saturday…Courtney Winters (Swampscott, Mass.) exited play on Friday with a three-game point streak, recording at least one point in each of her last three games (5-2=7) with three power play goals to her credit…Kathryn Picarello (West Roxbury, Mass.) entered Saturday’s contest riding five-game point streak dating back to last season, recording six points (1-5=6) dating back to Feb. 27, 2011 against Holy Cross…Saint Anselm was outshot against Salve Regina, marking the first time dating back to Feb. 18, 2011 against New England College that the Hawks were out-shot…Goaltender Amy Zappen (Huntington Beach, Calif.) halted a season-high 35 shots on goal against Salve Regina…Jacqueline Bouchie (Belmont, Mass.) recorded her first goal of the season against Holy Cross...Aly Zappen (Huntington Beach, Calif.) and Franny Nicholson (St. Paul, Minn.) were the lone Hawks players to record a positive plus/minus rating in the game against Holy Cross.

SCOUTING NORWICH - Junior forward Julie Fortier was named the Player of the Week and freshman forward Tyne Gove was named the Rookie of the Week as nationally-ranked Norwich took two of the ECAC’s three weekly honors...Fortier registered an even three goals and three assists to help lead the Cadets to a weekend sweep over Plymouth State and Southern Maine... Fortier scored two goals and dished out two assists in Saturday afternoon’s 10-0 drubbing of Southern Maine after she had tallied a goal and an assist the night before against Plymouth State...Gove was the catalyst for the Norwich offense as she tallied her first career hat trick in Friday’s 14-0 win over Plymouth State, which also broke a school record for most goals in a game after the previous high was 12.
