The average price was $88,085, up 18% compared to 74,688 in 2016 while the median price was $41,000, compared with $45,000 a year ago. The buyback percentage was 25.1%; it was 27.6% last year. Fourteen horses sold for $250,000 or more, compared with eight at the corresponding session in 2016. Topping the sale so far is Hip 584, who was pur- chased for $850,000 by Eclipse Thoroughbred Partners, Twin Creeks, Bri- dlewood and Robert La Penta. The bay colt is by Medaglia d’Oro out of the multiple graded-stakes winning mare Indian Vale, by A.P. Indy.
