GAME NOTES OCTOBER 23, 2015 GAME #11 - VANCOUVER GIANTS (4-4-1-1) VS. SEATTLE THUNDERBIRDS (6-1-1-0)

PRE-GAME REPORT The Giants will get Captain Tyler Benson back into their lineup tonight. The 17-year-old Edmonton native has yet to play this season after undergoing pre-season surgery to repair a lower body ailment. Benson is projected to be a first round pick in next summer’s NHL Draft after tallying 45 points in 62 games in his rookie season in the WHL last year. The G-Men are coming off a 6-4 loss to the Red Deer Rebels on Saturday. Vancouver still holds the top ranked power play in the league (35.3%).

The Thunderbirds haven’t lost in regulation since falling 3-2 to the Giants in their first game of the season back on September 25th at the Rink on Renfrew. As a result, the Seattle club has the league’s highest winning percentage (0.813). first round draft pick Mathew Barzal, who hails from , has been back in the Seattle lineup for five games since returning from NHL training camp. Over that span, Barzal has netted two goals and six assists.
