Tag 3 SOFIA - (150 km) After breakfast departure for Plovdiv. Arrival at Plovdiv. Accommodation in a hotel. Some free time. Sightseeing tour in the old town of Plovdiv and a visit to the museums and archaeological monuments of the city. Its historical part, called the Old Town, is an imposing open-air museum situated on the three hills of the ancient Trimontium The city, built in the hollow of his seven unique hills and situated on the ancient road "ViaDiagonalis" connecting Rome and Constantinople is one of the richest historical areas in Europe. Tag 4 Daily tour PLOVDIV-BACHKOVO MONASTERY (30 km) Upon Breakfast tour to Bachkovo Monastery, the second largest Bulgarian monastery, the Bachkovo cloister, lies in the valley of the river (also known by the locals as Chaya), about 10km to the south of the town of Assenovgrad. On all sides, the monastery is surrounded by the hills of the Rhodopi mountain, which together with its size and ancient spirit make is one of the most visited monasteries in Bulgaria. The complex and its neighbourhood have grown into a developed tourist sight where dozens of small shops, stalls, and restaurants stand on both sides of the walkway to the gates and appeal with their variety to visitors. One can find here everything that grows or is being manufactured in the Rhodopi mountain – rare herbs, home-made jams of wild fruit, yogurt and white cheese made of sheep or buffalo’s milk, woollen carpets, etc.

The Bachkovo Monastery “Assumption of the Virgin” is located in the southern part of the village Bachkovo, 10 kilometers south of . Bachkovo monastery is the second largest monastery in Bulgaria. The monastery was founded in 1083 by the Georgian Gregoriy Bakuriani, who donated the land. For a long time the monastery was Georgian. The two-story ossuary some 400 meters from the monastery was built during the monastery’s earliest days. At the end of the 12th century and the beginning of the 13th century, The Holy Archangels Church was built, for services during the winter months. It was attached to the terrace on the second floor of the west wing where the monks had their cells. It is thought that after the fall of Bulgaria to the Ottomans at the end of the 14th century, Eftimiy, Bulgaria’s last patriarch, was exiled to the Bachkovo Monastery. En route visit the – Assenovgrad (Assen’s Fortress) with English speaking guide. Asen’s Fortress is the most interesting and most often visited tourist attraction in the Asenovgrad region. It is located three kilometers from the city on the top of a cliff, on the left bank of the Asenitsa River. According to archaeologists, a stronghold Asenovgrad already existed at the time of the Thracians 5.4 BC, later was inhabited during the Roman and early Byzantine era. It consists of an outer wall and the citadel. There are coins from the reign of Emperor Teofil- 9th century. During the Middle Ages was its strategic position. From here we can see the palm passageway that connects the Aegean Plovdiv. Today, for us, the fortress is a comfortable place to enjoy the beautiful view, which offer us the Rhodopes. Tag 5 Daily tour PLOVDIV – KOPRIVSHTITSA (90 km ) Upon Breakfast tour to Koprivshtitsa - The town of Koprivshtitsa is located in the heart of the mountain range. There are many legends concerning the town’s beginnings. All of the legends agree that Koprivshtitsa was founded at the end of the Second Bulgarian Empire (the end of the 14th century). From 1793 to 1819, Koprivshtitsa was engulfed in flames three times. The third time the town was almost completely destroyed, and after that the current city foundations were laid. The new community gradually expanded as the local population of merchants and artisans contributed to its development. Koprivshtitsa has always been of historical interest, since it is associated with the rise of the Bulgarian people during the country’s Age of Awakening (18th – 19th centuries).

The architecture in Koprivshtitsa reflects the historical development growth of Bulgarian traditional architecture that can still be observed in its various forms at present. Drive back to Plovdiv. En route Visit winery Starosel. Winery Starosel was built in 2005. Production plant has an annual processing capacity of 1,000 tons of grapes and is unique for Bulgaria production technology, as well as special equipment for fermentation and selection of grapes.

Technologists and winemakers from cellar Starosel lit a flame that will leave a mark on our times and will carry over the centuries the tradition of the ancient Thracians left us a gift in the art to make and drink wine. Tag 6 Daily tour PLOVDIV - HISSAR ( 55 km) After breakfast continue with a daily tour to town of Hissar with English speaking guide. The town of Hissar is situated in Central Bulgaria, famous for its 16 healing mineral waters from16 natural mineral springs and 6 drilled mineral water wells. The town is one of the oldest and most popular balneologycal and spa centers in Bulgaria. The climate is mild and pleasant, and one remarkable phenomenon there is the lack of fog. The Hissar history is mainly connected with the Roman Empire. When these lands arrive Romans, anchor here, built a huge city (Auguste) and turn it into their administrative center. Time for a Lunch in a small restaurant in the Centrum of a town Hissar. Free time.Drive back to Plovdiv Dinner at folk restaurant in Plovdiv and overnight in Plovdiv.

Tag 7 PLOVDIV – SOFIA (150 km) After breakfast continue to Sofia. Arrival in Sofia and Accommodation in a hotel. Leisure and free time for souvenirs from Bulgaria.
