TCA DEVELOPMENT REPORT APRIL TO JUNE 2014 DOMESTIC LEAGUE: The annually played DRCC T20 T1 Cup final was played by AKSC v/s Veecom on 29th June 2014 at the DSM Gymkhana ground. AKSC won the toss and elected to bat first scoring 92/6 in the allotted 20 over’s. In defending the score AKSC restricted Veecom to a score of 68 all out to become the winners of T20 T1 2014 league. The T20 T2 final were played against VEECOM ‘B’ v/s St Gobain Strikers. Veecom won the toss and elected to bat first scoring 46 all out in 16.1 over. In reply St Gobain managed to chase the low score 47/3 in 10 over over’s to win the T20 T2 league. The final of T20 T3 was played by TCA U19 v/s Kigogo. Tca under 17won the toss and elected to bat first scoring 116 for 9 in their 20 over’s. In defending the score TCAu17 managed to restrict Kigogo to a score of 83 all out, hence becoming the champions. ARUSHA LEAUGE: The final of the NKS oil tournament in Arusha was played by A TO Z v/s Expatriate sports club at the ATOZ ground. A to Z won the toss and elected to bat first scoring 90 runs all out in 18.2 over’s. I reply the expatriates managed to chase the score in 13.1 over’s with a score of 91/5 to clinch the NKS oil Cup 2014. REGIONAL U19 TOURNAMENT: The Association organized a 50 over U19 Boys regional tournament in DSM. The purpose for this tournament was to give equal opportunity to all the U19 players for selection of the of ICC-ACA U19 DIV 2 event to be hosted in Lusaka,Zambia in August. Four teams from DSM, Arusha, Morogoro and Mwanza participated in this event. The final was played by Morogoro v/s DSM. Morogoro won the toss and elected to bat first scoring 140 all our in 26.1 over’s in their 50 allotted over’s. In reply DSM managed to chase the score in 24.1 overs with a score of 141/4 winning the regional U19 2014 tournament. DEVELOPMENT: Educational programs: Level 2 coaching course DSM A Level 11refresher course was held at the muhimbili cricket academy for 16 candidates from 9th to 11th June 2014. The seminar was conducted by Zully Rehemtulla and assisted by Hamisi Abdallah and Khalil Rehemtullah.The aim of this course was to update and educate the coaches who are allocated in different regions about the basic fundamental principles of batting, bowling and fielding.On the last day of the course all the candidates who attended the course did a theory and practical exams. JUNIOR INVOLVEMENT: CHANZO CRICKET MOROGORO The TCA development committee organized a one day ‘’chanzo’’ cricket tournament of the modified game for juniors in MOROGORO played at the SUA ground on the 4th May 2014. A Total of 36 primary school teams i.e. 20 boy’s teams and 16 girl’s teams participated in this tournament. Transport, T-Shirts, Lunch, water and soft drinks was provided by Association to all the participants. The youths that had participated in last year’s Chanzo Cricket got the opportunity to officiate and keep the score in the event to gain some experience. In the boy’s category, Bungo emerged winner while in the girl’s catgory Mjimkuu became the winners. CHANZO CRICKET DAR-ES SALAAM Another similar tournament was held at DAR-ES-SALAAM Region at the University ground on the 18th May2014. A total of 36 school teams participated in this tournament having 16 girl’s team and 20 boy’s team. The Association provided the youths with transport, water, juice, and lunch along with T shirts. Osterbay emerged to be winners in both the genders. CHANZO CRICKET ARUSHA TCA organized another similar event at Arusha School ground on the 30 may 2014 to conclude the Chanzo Cricket tournaments in all the five region that have been actively involved in the delevelopment of the game. A total of 24 teams participated in this year’s chanzo cricket having 12 boys teamand 12 girls team.The Association provided the youths with transport, water, juice, and lunch along with T shirts. In the Boys group levolosiemerged be winners and I the girls group baraa emerged to be the winners. PRIMARY SCHOOL LEAGUE: Primary school leagues were organized by the development committee for both gender, at Morogoro, Dar-es-salaam, Mwanza Arusha and Tanga werescheduled to commence in the 1st quater. Due to heavy rains all over the country the leagues took off with a big bang on the 07-05-2014 and were conclude on the 03 -7-2014. In DSM Osterbay girls team emerged the winners and in the boys category Mkwawa (A) boys won the league. While in Mwanza Lake ‘B’ girls won the event and inn the boys category Mkuyuni emerged the winner of the region. Batting & Spinners, camp – Nairobi Kenya: A batting and spinners camp was organized by ICC-ACA development program and hosted by Cricket Kenya for E. African U17 players in Nairobi at Ruwaraka cricket club from 23th to 27th May 2014. The camp was conducted by Martin Suji, Joseph Angara and Steve Tikolo. Raahil Krishna Amarshi, Shafii Muharam Kolo, Lazaro Festo N’ganga and Bobby Singh Karwal were selected from Tanzania attended the camp to enhance their skills. During the camp Bobby Singh Karwal received the best batsman award. PLAYERS PLACEMENT: Hamisi Abdallah and Khalil Rehemtulla were invited to participate in the HPLT20 from 16th June to 9th July 2014 organized by Harry Academy in New Delhi played at Bulanshar and Comos ground. It was a privilege for both Tanzanian players to be able to share their expirence with other players that were invited from different corners of the world.
