The competition for these awards is open to all presenters at the conference, with the exception of invited speakers and any presenters who request that they not be considered for an award. Judging is by a committee of selected FBG members, and is based on the quality of the work presented in the submitted abstracts, the podium and poster presentations, and any other scientific criteria that the judges deem appropriate. The decision of the judges is final, and winners will be announced at the closing banquet, along with the announcement of the winner of the $25,000 Nike prize, an award judged independently from the conference presentations.
