Shakuntala Commissioner Note: We are heartily announcing that we have launched our own website “www.manatenali.co.in” on 31-10-2015 as part of e-governance reforms under AMRUT. Citizens can easily access the services providing by the municipality and can download application forms for the services providing by the Municipality. We have successfully implemented reform milestones for the year 2015-16 under AMRUT scheme. Conservation of natural resources is essential in now a days for sustainable development, hence we are creating awareness among public on water harvesting pits, energy conservation and motivated public to dig rain water harvesting pits in the premises of their houses. We are proud to be one of the ULB’s which have collected more than 90% of property tax for the financial year 2015-16. Tremendous efforts by the revenue section for the past 3 months from January – March 2016 and we are also proud to announce that Tenali Municipality stands 3rd in the state ranking under Swatch Bharat Mission. We have started Online building approval services from 31st March 2016. It will ease the approval process. Citizens can apply online for building approvals with the help of Town Planning staff at the municipality. Commissioner Tenali Municipality Tenali Municipality Overview and Characteristics: Tenali is one of the oldest Municipalities formed in 1909 and now is Special Grade Municipality with a population of 164937 as per 2011 census. The Municipality at present having an area of 16.63 Sq.kms. Tenali town is the 5th biggest urban centre in this region after Vijayawada, Guntur, Nellore and Ongole. The biggest Sangam dairy, Co-operative Sugar factory, Continental Coffee works, internationally famous are situated very close to the town. The floating population to the town is at very high rate since Tenali is marketing place for Agriculture, Entertainment, Employment & Medical facilities etc. Tenali, ‘Andhra Paris’ is one of the sacred places of Panchavati in the delta area of Krishna River. Out of the sanctioned 9.09cr amount sanctioned under the AMRUT scheme, the share of municipality of 3.61cr that has to be sanctioned was agreed by the council. Developmental activities Initiations are taken for laying of road towards bus stand. This road will ease the access between railway station and bus stand as this route will be shortest distance to the commuters. Arrangement of Temporary shelters during summer: In order to deal with the situation of high affect due to increase of temperature special activities were provided by the Tenali Municipality. They include establishment of temporary shelters, provision of drinking water, butter milk, etc. at different places. MP Galla Jayadev instructions to fasten the University works The Central government has given the nod for setting up Kendriya Vidyalaya at Tenali from the academic year 2014-2015. Classes would start from this academic year with an intake of 200 students from classes 1-5. The district administration has allotted five acres on the premises of ITI at Tenali. Tenali Municipality Swatch Bharat Mission: Tenali Municipality is implementing Swachh Bharath scheme by creating regular awareness campaigns in the public about cleanliness, sanitation and construction of IHLs to make Swachh Tenali The Ministry had short-listed as many as 476 cities and urban local bodies, with a population of more than one lakh. Tenali municipality stands 3rd rank in the state and 74th rank all over India in Swachh Bharat rankings that were released by the Ministry of Urban Development. Mere launching a program is not enough, results matter. It is not only the Government who can make it a success, people's participation is of utmost importance. India will definitely be a clean country in coming years provided the Government and the people participate in this Swachh Bharat Mission in a holistic manner. Tenali Municipality Conservation of National Resources In order to conserve water resources, Tenali municipality taken initiative to make use of existing water by digging rain water harvesting pits in the municipality and by bringing awareness among people. Planting Trees: In the municipal surroundings municipality has taken the special care for tree plantation so that to achieve greenery all around the municipal area. Periodically the special drive is taken to plant trees and motivating public to plant more and more trees and also distributing the trees to conserve environment Building Approvals Online building approval systems is introduced by the Government of Andhra Pradesh to ease the building approval procedure and to provide effective services by Town Planning Section.
