15th July 2019 Dear Parents/ Carers

TEACHING STAFF ARRANGEMENTS FOR NEXT YEAR: SEPTEMBER 2019 – JULY 2020

As we approach the end of the summer term, we have been turning our attention to teaching arrangements for the next academic year. Attached to this letter you will find a list of the classes and their new teachers for September 2019. As part of our transition programme all of your children have had the chance to meet their new teacher today. We will be having a “meet the teacher” event early in the autumn term so that you will also have an opportunity to meet with your child’s new teacher.

Stanburn is a very large school with more than a hundred and twenty staff and, whilst we are sad to say goodbye to valued colleagues, it is inevitable that this will happen from time to time. Mrs Mojaria will be moving for promotion to Primary Deputy Headteacher at Northwood College for Girls at the end of this term after 8 years of dedicated service to Stanburn. Miss Dear is moving to become a senior teacher at St Jerome’s Bilingual Church of School. During the 26 years that she has been in Stanburn she has worked tirelessly for the school and had a hugely positive impact on the lives of many children who have passed through Stanburn both in her class and beyond! Mrs Thakhar is moving to work in Special education, Miss Kavanagh is relocating to south and Miss Brosnan is moving to a smaller Catholic school nearer to her home. Miss A Patel is moving to a school in Ealing as year leader and class teacher. We wish them all the best in their new jobs and thank them for their wonderful work at Stanburn!

As a result of staff leaving we have recruited some amazing new teachers. I am very pleased with these appointments as they will bring a range of new talents and a wealth of additional experience to Stanburn. I am sure that your children were excited to meet their new teachers earlier today. We are very pleased to welcome Mrs Malik who will be an Assistant Headteacher and a Y2 class teacher. She joins us from Heathland and Whitefriars, Miss Lydon who is taking up the position of Y5 leader and class teacher. She is joining us from St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School and Mrs Hartland who will be Y6 leader and classteacher also joins us from another school and is a highly experienced Y6 teacher. We also warmly welcome Mrs Bailey and Mrs Khan who are joining Stanburn from other Harrow schools and are both very experienced teachers and Miss Trivedi and Mrs Motaali who come from other London schools and will be joining Reception and Y4 respectively.

We will also be saying goodbye to Mrs A Lawrence who has worked as the school’s Heritage Officer for the past 6 years. She has decided to retire and we thank her for all her years of valued support with the Blast Shelter and inspiring hundreds of children to have a love of History! We wish her every happiness in her retirement.

We will be very sorry to say goodbye to these colleagues who have made a significant contribution to our school and we wish them all the very best for the future. If you would like to contribute to a leaving present for any of the staff above, please hand it into the school office in a sealed envelope with the teacher’s name clearly written on it.

Yours sincerely
