Twilight 2000
TWILIGHT 2000 Twilight 2000 is a Role playing game set in a fictional future, one where World war 3 began in the late 1990's and eventually slipped into a nuclear exchange changing society as we know it. The players assume the roles of survivors trying to live through the aftermath of the war. Twilight 2000 was published in the mid 1980's by Game Designers Workshop who unfortunately closed their doors in the early 1990's. The copyright was purchased by Tantalus, Inc but there are no stated plans to revive the game. Despite the lack of any new material from a publisher the game continues to expand through the players on websites such as this. This is my contribution to the game, this site will be in a constant state of change, I plan to add material as I get it finished. This will include new equipment, optional rules, alternate game backgrounds and other material as it accumulates, currently I am working on source material for a World war 2 background, but I also have been completing some optional rules of my own as well as modern equipment. For other perspectives on Twilight 2000 visit the links listed at the bottom of this page. Rather than turning while locked together, bolt and barrel recoiled straight back. All comment submissions will become the property of WW2DB. By the winter of , millions of American military personnel were on the move, but they were not alone. Comes complete with a post-war repainted basket belt drum. The Mother of All Machine Guns. It was designed primarily by Heinrich Vollmer from the Mauser Werke, based on the recently introduced Rheinmetall-designed Solothurn MG 30 that was starting to enter service in Switzerland. The German equivalent, the feldbluse , in contrast, would have made a Savile Row tailor blush it was so intricate, and used almost twice as much wool. Second World War. However, the MG 34 was also expensive, both in terms of construction and the raw materials needed 49 kg Now, put yourself in the boots of a US soldier in and imagine yourself as a rifleman in a squad that has just been given the order to silence a German machine-gun position. The versatile MG 34 was arguably the finest machine gun in the world at the time of its adoption and deployment with the German Army.[] It entered service in great numbers following Hitler's repudiation of the Versailles Treaty in 1936, and was first tested by German troops aiding Franco's Nationalists in the Spanish Civil War. -
The Great Canadian Machine Gun Mania of 1915: the Public, the Press, and Government Decision Making in Procuring Machine Guns for the Canadian Expeditionary Force
The Great Canadian Machine Gun Mania of 1915: The Public, the Press, and Government Decision Making in Procuring Machine Guns for the Canadian Expeditionary Force CAMERON PULSIFER* Following the first entry of Canadian troops into battle at 2 nd Ypres in April 1915, the machine gun for a time dominated public and political discussion in Canada. Both the Canadian public and the government determined that they needed to do all that they could to get as many of these weapons into the hands of Canadian troops as possible. An examination of this phenomenon reveals much about the mood of the Canadian public and the difficulties experienced by the government as both came to realize in a more urgent sense than ever before just would be involved in waging a war of a scale and intensity that few had conceived of. THE MACHINE GUN stands out as one of the iconic weapons of the First World War. -
