Because it was in that year that I became personally acquainted with the Service rifle, since which time I have continually kept up my acquaintancewith thcService small-arms, making all kinds of experirncnts; and for the last sixteen years my duty has been to inspect and tcst the various arms during their mannractnre, after they are finished before issue, and again when in use in the hands of the troops.

FOR INFORMATION ONLY NORTHERN VIRGINIA BAPTIST ASSOCIATION, INC. COMMISSION ON CIVIL AND SOCIAL ACTIONS GUN LAWS IN VIRGINIA Compiled by Dr. George W. Farmer, Jr chairperson 1 FOR INFORMATION ONLY Gun laws in Virginia (Wikipedia) This document is a compendium of data concerning gun laws in the State of Virginia. These data are drawn from the general data bases of Wikipedia and should be assessed in light of the reputation of that data source. It is a convenient array of relevant information and is provided to give the reader useful background information. Gun laws in Virginia regulate the sale, possession, and use of firearms and ammunition in the Commonwealth of Virginia in the United States. SUMMARY STATEMENT This compendium of data concerning gun laws in Virginia has been developed to provide interested individuals background data to aid in making decisions concerning purchasing and storing guns of all types available in the Commonwealth of Virginia. This document does not endorse or oppose the gun laws as they exist, but is provided as a resource that hopefully will aid those who seek objective information concerning the possession of firearms in the State. It is important to recognize that laws concerning guns are on the books and that those laws are “morality neutral.” Moreover, the Northern Virginia Baptist Association has not established a position based on the scriptures concerning the purchase or use of guns. We provide this information more or less as a “clearinghouse” with the goal of increasing the prospects that individuals may use it to help them make informed decisions concerning the purchase and use of fire arms.

  • In the Norvinsk Region, a Special Economic Zone That Served As Both
In the Norvinsk Region, a special economic zone that served as both a bridge between Russia and Europe as well as an excellent location for international companies to do business, a Britain-based corporation called Terra Group began conducting illegal experiments under the guise of creating “new, cutting edge technologies.” When the Russian government began to investigate Terra Group hired a PMC known as USEC (United Security) to act as their proxy private army to disrupt any investigations on their activities. With traditional methods exhausted and their hands legally tied the Russian government took a new approach and secretly created a PMC of their own, known as BEAR, who could successfully combat USEC while keeping their hands clean. It was soon discovered that some elements of the local government also had a hand in Terra Group’s activities by hiding their facilities and officially slating the new USEC forces as being used for “agricultural and mining security”. The Russian government began to believe that these activities were a genuine threat to national security and therefore invested a great deal of resources into BEAR. USEC and BEAR soon came to blows all across the region, the fighting intensifying to the point where a six month political scandal resulted in the involvement of the UN, who soon proved to be ineffective against either side. Eventually, the Norvinsk Region was evacuated by the majority of the civilians who had made their homes there due to the incredible danger that resulted from these battles. Yes, just most of them. Some were unable to leave in time, but some willingly stayed behind in the now mostly lawless area.

  • PREAMBLE Whereas the People of the State of Oregon Find That Gun Violence in Oregon and the United States, Resulting in Horrific
PREAMBLE Whereas the People of the State of Oregon find that gun violence in Oregon and the United States, resulting in horrific deaths and devastating injuries due to mass shootings and other homicides, is unacceptable at any level; and Whereas the firearms referred to as “semiautomatic assault firearms” are designed with features to allow rapid spray firing or the quick and efficient killing of humans, and the unregulated availability of semiautomatic assault firearms used in such mass shootings and other homicides in Oregon, and throughout the United States, poses a grave and immediate risk to the health, safety and well-being of the citizens of this State, and in particular our children; and Whereas firearms have evolved from muskets to semiautomatic assault firearms, including rifles, shotguns and pistols with enhanced features and with the ability to kill so many in such an increasingly short period of time, unleashing death and unspeakable pain in places that should be safe: our homes, schools, places of worship, shopping malls, communities; and Whereas a failure to resolve long unrest and inequitable treatment of individuals based on race, gender, religion and other distinguishing characteristics and failure to develop legislative tools to remove the ability of those with criminal intent or predisposition to commit violence from acquiring such instruments of carnage and never-ending sadness; It is therefore morally incumbent upon the citizens of Oregon to take immediate action, which we do by this initiative, to reduce the availability of these assault firearms, and thus reduce their ability to cause death and loss in places that should remain safe; Now, therefore, BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OREGON: SECTION 1.

From My Collection - The Webley-Fosbery When you have collected the whole Webley military revolver series, Mark I to mark VI, you might start to wonder ‘what next?’. The Webley British service revolver, developed in the 1880’s, was the most effective military sidearm of its day. However, by the turn of the century automatic pistols were making an appearance, with a number of different and competing technologies. The Borchardt/Luger toggle, Mauser/Bergman bolt and Browning slide actions are the best known. Amongst the other contenders was the quintessentially British Webley-Fosbery automatic revolver, the brainchild of Lieutenant Colonel George Fosbery, VC. Fosbery, ignoring all the other systems emerging in the 1890’s, devised a simple and ingenious method of harnessing the recoil energy of a fired round to rotate the cylinder and cock the hammer of a revolver. This was achieved by dividing the frame into two sections, with the upper part, consisting of barrel, cylinder and hammer assembly, fitted to slide to the rear of the lower part under the force of the recoil. A small vertical stud fixed to the lower section engages with zig-zag grooves on the outer surface of the cylinder, rotating it to bring the next chamber into line with the bore. At the same time the rearward movement of the upper section is used to cock the hammer. Apart from the fact that it cannot be fired ‘double action’, the operation of the Fosbery is otherwise similar to that of the top-break Webley service revolver. However, the cylinder is fixed and cannot be rotated with the action closed other than by firing a round or manually pushing the upper section rearward.

  • A 3D Tour Handgun History Dan Lovy
A 3D Tour Handgun History Dan Lovy I have a new toy, a 3D printer. I am amazed at the level of quality compared to its price. I'm printing out robots, cartoon characters and as many Star Trek ship models as I can find. The darn thing is running almost 24/7 and all my shelving is filling up with little plastic objects. First let me state that I am not a gun enthusiast. I own no fire arms and have been to a firing range once in my life. I believe that we have too many and they are too accessible, especially in the U.S. That having been said, I also have a fascination with the technological change that occurred during the industrial revolution. In some ways we are still advancing the technology that was developed in the late 19th and early 20th century. Fire arms, especially handguns, offer a unique window into all this. Advancement did not happen through increased complexity. A modern Glock is not much more complex than a Colt 1911. The number of parts in a pistol has been in the same range for nearly 200 years. Cars on the other hand gained complexity and added system after system. Advancement did not happen through orders of magnitude in performance. A 747 is vastly more capable than the Wright Flyer. One of the basic measures of a pistol is how fast can it shoot a bullet, that parameter has not really changed much, certainly not as much as the top speed of a car.
