Vogt Visual Arts Center 17420 S. 67th Court | (708) 614-6503 he Vogt Visual Arts Center (VVAC) is a facility of the Tinley Park-Park TDistrict. The VVAC was once home to the first Tinley Park Mayor, Henry Vogt. In 1996 it reopened as the VVAC, which houses all of the park district’s fine arts classes and art gallery. The art gallery features a new exhibit each month with works from various local and well-known artists.

TOT TIME The Tot Time Preschool Program includes a variety of developmentally appropriate activities: creative art experiences, singing and rhythm activities, stories, finger plays, role playing and body movement, free play, and activities related to everyday math and science discovery. This program is continuous beginning in September and ending in May. Children must be 3 or 4 years old on or before September 1, 2018. All children must be toilet trained and able to take care of their own bathroom needs. Three-year-old classes have a maximum of 20 children and four-year-old classes have a

Dance Our summer dance program runs a total of 9 weeks. We offer classes in ballet, tap, and jazz for students ages 3-12. All age requirements must be met by June 1, 2018. The instructor has the right to move children at her discretion. All students must come to class in the proper uniform. Girls should wear a plain black leotard made of lycra, cotton, or nylon. No velvet material, skirts, or prints on the leotard. White tights and white ballet shoes and/or black tap/jazz shoes should be worn. Boys should wear a black T-shirt and shorts. Acoustic Guitar Private acoustic guitar lessons for all levels are offered through the Tinley Park-Park District. Each session includes eight, 30-minute private lessons. The instructor, Steve Lawler, has played for over 30 years and has performed professionally in area bands. Certified by the Suzuki Association of the Americas, he has taught guitar, using both Suzuki and traditional methods, at local fine arts schools since 2002. Each student must have either a nylon or steel string guitar for class and for practice at home. Students will be asked to purchase a music book (and a CD if using the Suzuki method) from a local or online music store. OLYMPIC TAEKWONDO Students will have the opportunity to improve concentration and self-esteem, achieve lifelong physical fitness and learn self-defense skills. A uniform fee of $45 is required at the first class. Belt testing is offered through K. H. Kim’s Taekwondo at an additional fee and is held twice a year. All colored belt students are required to have complete sparring gear. Early Taekwondo This program helps kids develop conditioning, coordination, listening skills and self-confidence through creative activities. River Running Come walk or jog against the current in our 600 foot lazy river. This self-directed class will be held when the Water Park is closed to recreational swimmers. This class is for exercise only using the river current for resistance to pro- vide an aerobic and muscular workout. You may arrive and use the river any time during the 1 ½ hour time frame. A lifeguard will be posted for your safety. Water shoes are required as the river bottom has a rough surface. Give this exercise a try and you will find out that there is nothing lazy about this river! Drop in fee for those not registered will be available depending on class size $5.00 for each class.
