36 2019 Elmore County Fair & Rodeo We aren’t just COWS and PLOWS We are... Leaders & Achievers Learners & Servers Teams With Dreams... We are FFA!

FFA Creed I BELIEVE in the future of agriculture, with a faith born not of words but of deeds - achievements won by the present and past generations of agriculturists; in the promise of better days through better ways, even as the better things we now enjoy have come to us from the struggles of former years. I BELIEVE that to live and work on a good farm, or to be en- gaged in other agricultural pursuits, is pleasant as well as challenging; for I know the joys and dis- comforts of agricultural life and hold an inborn fondness for those associations which, even in hours of discouragement, I cannot deny. I BELIEVE in leadership from ourselves and respect from others. I believe in my own ability to work efficiently and think clearly, with such knowledge and skill as I can secure, and in the ability of progressive agriculturists to serve our own and the public interest in producing and marketing the product of our toil. I BELIEVE in less dependence on begging and more power in bargaining; in the life abundant and enough honest wealth to help make it so--for others as well as myself; in less need for charity and more of it when needed; in being happy myself and playing square with those whose happiness depends upon me. I BELIEVE that American agriculture can and will hold true to the best traditions of our national life and that I can exert an influence in my home and community which will stand solid for my part in that inspiring task.

ETHICAL EXPECTATIONS OF 4-H PARTICIPANTS All participants within the 4-H Program to include Extension staff, volunteers, parents, and members are expected to conduct themselves in an ethical manner always. Ethics are principles of accepted behaviors that outline how individuals should act; it deals with the ability to tell right from wrong and being committed to do what is right. Using the Six Pillars of Character listed below can help guide you in making good ethical decisions. Trustworthiness: Be honest. Don’t deceive, cheat or steal. Be reliable. Do what you say you’ll do. Have the courage to do the right thing. Build a good reputation. Be loyal & stand by your family, friends, and country.

Respect: Treat others with respect. Be tolerant of differences. Use good manners and refrain from bad language. Be considerate of the feelings of others. Don’t threaten, hit or hurt anyone. Deal peacefully with anger, insults and disagreements.

Responsibility: Do what you are supposed to do. Persevere and keep on trying! Always do your best. Use self-control. Be self-disciplined. Think before you act & consider the consequences.

Fairness: Play by the rules. Take turns & share. Be open-minded and listen to others. Don’t take advantage of others. Don’t blame others carelessly.

Caring: Be kind. Be compassionate and show you care. Express gratitude. Forgive others. Help people in need.

Citizenship: Do your share to make your club, school, and community better. Cooperate. Get involved in community affairs. Stay informed; vote. Be a good neighbor. Obey laws and rules. Respect authority. Protect the environment. Ethics is an important part of everyday life. If you chose to act unethically or allow others around you to do so; you not only tarnish your reputation but also discredit your family, club and the 4-H program. No prize or award is worth this in the long run. Remember, only one person ultimately controls the decisions you make and that is you. As a 4-H participant we trust you will make ethical choices in our program, as well as in life.

2019 Elmore County Fair & Rodeo 51 Meet your 2018-2019 Elmore County Fair & Rodeo Royalty Elmore County Fair and Rodeo Senior Queen Halie Lambrecht

Hello! My name is Halie Lambrecht, the 20 year old daugh- ter of James and Jodie Lambrecht from Boise Idaho, and your 2019 Elmore County Fair and Rodeo Queen! When i am not at a rodeo or parade you can find me working as a veterinarian assistant, roping and chasing cows with friends, or shooting my bow with my family in our beautiful Idaho foothills. I have been so grateful to represent this incredible rodeo this year and gain so many fun and memorable expe- riences, I am so excited to see what the future has in store for this hometown rodeo and the next strong young cowgirl who gets to represent it next. The Elmore County Fair and Rodeo is an up and coming hometown rodeo that has won my heart over for years as it grows. So bring the family, the Elmore County Fair runs the 17th - 20th of July with the ro- deo the nights of the 19th and 20th, so come enter the rodeo and ride along side me or cheer on your friends, family, and neighbors! Halie Lambrecht
