INTRODUCTION

The Shopsmith Riving Knife will help pre- vent kickback on non-through Table cuts with any 10” Saw Blade. Because of its close proximity to the blade, the Shopsmith Riving Knife helps prevent the board from twisting and binding between the and the blade. It works equally well for non-through cuts, either with the grain or across the grain. It is useful for non-through cuts at any miter angle or table angle. It follows the blade for any depth non-through cut. It is helpful for many joinery cuts such as slots and grooves, rabbits, tenons, lap joints as well as spline grooves. ALIGNMENT

Tools Required

CHECK RIVING KNIFE TO BLADE ALIGNMENT

If your Upper Saw guard has been properly aligned to the Saw Blade than no further align- ment will be needed. It is always good to check this when setting up the sawing opera- tion to be sure all is aligned.

OPERATIONS

Position the Work Table

Position the Work Table over Saw Blade with Riving Knife mounted securely in the lower Saw Guard. Adjust the table, rip fence, miter gauge or other accessory to make the desired cut. Use only proper, safe tech- nique.
