Monitoring Report Rainfall Advisory Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council July 15, 2021 RAINFALL ADVISORY No. 1 NL_PRSD - Benguet Radar DATE ISSUED July 15, 2021 TIME ISSUED 05:13 pm REGIONS Region 1, Region 2, CAR SUBJECT No. 1 NL_PRSD - Benguet Radar WEATHER SYSTEM Low Pressure Area (LPA) / Southwest Monsoon EFFECTS Moderate to occasionally heavy rains are being experienced over portions of Ifugao (Asipulo, Banaue, Hingyon, Hungduan, Kiangan, Lagawe, Lamut, Mayoyao and Tinoc), Nueva Vizcaya (Ambaguio, Bagabag, Bambang, Bayombong, Diadi, Dupax Del Norte, Kasibu, Kayapa, Quezon and Solano), and Pangasinan (Natividad, San Quintin, and Umingan) which may persist for 1-2 hours may affect nearby areas. RECOMMENDED All are advised to take precautionary measures against the impacts associated with these hazards. Residents along the mountain slope are advised of possible landslides mudslides, rock slides, and flash floods. Keep monitoring for updates. The exchange rate is: US$1.00 = PHP50.0 = ¥120.0 PREFACE In response to a request from the Government of the Republic of the Philippines, the Government of Japan decided to conduct the Feasibility Study of the Flood Control Project for the Lower Cagayan River in the Republic of the Philippines and entrusted the study to the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). JICA selected and dispatched a study team headed by Mr. Hideki SATO of NIPPON KOEI Co.,LTD. (consist of NIPPON KOEI Co.,LTD. and NIKKEN Consultants, Inc.) to the Philippines, six times between March 2000 and December 2001. Social responsibility means that an organization should duly act on what benefits not just their business but also the environment and society as a whole. In times of crisis, the implementation of SR is tested. A business organization must choose between keeping the fund to sustain their business or spending this for causes that will benefit the society. The cooperative movement surely chose the latter. Although cooperatives were not required by the government to do community development activities, it is in their freewill that they extended assistance to the society in the hope of boosting the morale of the community even during the COVID – 19 pandemic. Below are some of the social responsibility activities of cooperatives in Region 2. MISSIONARIES OF THE IMMACULATE CONCEPTION CREDIT COOPERATIVE in Alicia, Isabela provided financial assistance to their members, snacks for the frontliners, and relief goods for some residents in their barangay, as their way of showing their care for each other.
