mailing information.  Teri also noted that Gene Albright deposited many checks that had been outstanding for some time.  The June Monthly Treasurer’s report showed Income and Expenses of $5,364.3, and Cash on hand of $7,833.83. The report was voted on and accepted by the Board. Secretary:  Secretary Jane Postiglione. Minutes only. No other report. Judges Chair:  Judges Chair, Joe Hearst said July judges will be Joan Field for Prints and Randy Hake for PIs; August will be Terry Toomey for Prints and Lois Shouse for PIs; September judges will be Wayne Miller for Prints and Lois Shouse for PIs; .  It was mentioned that 3 new judges from the Judges Seminar were added to the Judges List, 8 who attended the seminar will not be judges, and 4 more are in process to becoming judges. Also two judges withdrew from the list: Bob S. and Virginia Scott.  Joan mentioned that Lois was sending an article on how N4C organized and conducted the recent Judges Seminar and it was suggested that the article be put in the PSA Journal.  The issue of having a formal survey process about judges with results going to the Judges Chair was discussed. Most thought the current informal feedback process giving information to the Judges Chair was adequate.  It was noted that judges start at club level and then move up to judge at the N4C level, even though most felt it was more difficult to judge at club level given time constraints and the practice of giving verbal critiques. Print Chair:  Joan mentioned that there will be an onlooker/guest at the next judging session.  A discussion about Print Chair deadlines occurred.  It was noted that to be in the N4C competition, the title of the print must be uploaded at a minimum. EI Coordinator:  Gene Albright reported on the number of PIs. Foto Fanfare Editor:  Foto Fanfare Editor, Amory Donaldson was not present. PSA:  PSA Rep Joe Hearst is participating in a PSA Retention Committee. Retention has become an issue partly because there are no Family Membership rates anymore. FotoClave:  No report. (There will be no FotoClave event this year, 2013). Special Programs Chair:  Joan reported on Special Program options: Jim Zuchenman charges $2,500 for a day plus travel costs. To have Jim N4C would have to charge $75.00 for attendance and have 100 people attend Charles Needle could be more affordable and he does creative macro and impressionistic images. Joan will check on his availability and costs. Michael Kenna does great black & white photography. William Neal does great landscape. Additional names mentioned were Bob Johnson, Tony Sweet, Bill Hisel and Brandonberg.

August 2013 Page 12 of 17

Webmaster:  Teri said she has a better process for submitting monthly images  It was mentioned that the Judges Seminar announcement should be removed and announcements about submitting Honors should be posted along with the dates of the Annual Judging (January 18, 2014) and the Annual Awards Banquet date (February 8, 2014). Old Business:  Gene Albright will work on how to enter a Sequence into Larry’s program. New Business:  The 2014 competition schedule choices were reviewed. For next year’s N4C competition schedule Joan suggested sticking to Proposal 4 which had two monochrome PI competitions a year (same schedule as the 2013 schedule).

Meeting adjourned at 8:55 PM. Respectfully submitted by Secretary Jane Postiglione Next Board Meeting: Monday Evening August 12th.
