With several conferences getting a late start to the season and The Home Depot College Football Awards now scheduled for Jan. 7, 2021 on ESPN, the NCFAA will push voting back to the dates outlined below for the awards featured on the show. • Semifinalists for each award will be chosen by Sun., Dec. 6 and announced on Mon., Dec. 7. Voting will run from Dec. 8-20 for each award. Bednarik Award • Three finalists for each award will be chosen by Sun., Dec. 20 and announced on Tues., Dec. 22, jointly with ESPN. Biletnikoff Award • Selection of each award winner will be determined by voting between Dec. 22-31 Bronko Nagurski Trophy and the formal winner announcements will take place on The Home Depot College Broyles Award Football Awards, which will be televised on ESPN on Jan. 7, 2021 from 7-8:30 p.m. ET, from Bristol, Conn. Burlsworth Trophy Nine of the association’s awards are formally presented annually on The Home Depot Butkus Award College Football Awards. Maxwell Award Statement from NCFAA President Mark Wolpert: Outland Trophy “The 2020 season has posed unprecedented challenges to the college football world Paul Hornung Award and each institution and conference is to be commended on the extraordinary efforts that have taken place to allow for games to be played. The student-athletes also Paycom Jim Thorpe Award deserve recognition for everything they have done, above and beyond the normal, Ray Guy Award which has made this season possible. Rimington Trophy Recognizing that several conferences have had late starts to the season and with The Home Depot College Football Awards being pushed to Jan. 7, 2021, the NCFAA, in Uplifting Athletes conjunction with ESPN, has decided to push our voting dates back into the latter Walter Camp Award part of December. We believe that this will afford all potential awards candidates the maximum opportunity to showcase their skills for the award voters, and allow teams William V.     July 13, 2017 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Contact: Steve Richardson [email protected] 214-870-6516 2017 BRONKO NAGURSKI TROPHY WATCH LIST UNVEILED DALLAS (FWAA) — The 2017 Bronko Nagurski Trophy Watch List boasts 103 defensive standouts from all 10 Division I FBS conferences, including four returning players from last season’s Football Writers Association of America All-America team. Christian Wilkins, a defensive tackle for defending national champion Clemson, and Florida State defensive back Tavarus McFadden are the only 2016 FWAA first-teamers on the list. Two other 2016 second-teamers – Houston defensive tackle Ed Oliver and Virginia linebacker Micah Kiser – are included along with NIU defensive back Shawun Lurry, a 2015 First-Team FWAA All-America player. The Atlantic Coast Conference led all conferences with 20 players on the watch list, followed by the Big Ten (16), SEC (14), Pac-12 (13), Big 12 (11), American Athletic (10), Sun Belt (6), Mountain West (5), Independents (3), Mid-American (3) and Conference USA (2). The list includes 30 defensive backs, 29 linebackers, 25 defensive ends and 19 defensive tackles, all vying for the award representing college football’s best defensive player. Players may be added or removed from the watch list during the course of the season. As in previous seasons, the FWAA will announce a National Defensive Player of the Week each Tuesday throughout the season. If not already on the watch list, each week’s honored player will be added at that time. The FWAA and the Charlotte Touchdown Club will announce five finalists for the 2017 Bronko Nagurski Trophy on Thurs., Nov.

Florida State Shock Linwood (Jr.) Baylor Ezekiel Elliott (Jr.) Ohio State Christian McCaffrey (So.) Stanford Leonard Fournette (So.) LSU C.J. Prosise (Sr.) Notre Dame Royce Freeman (So.) Oregon Members of the Doak Walker Award National Selection Committee will cast their votes to determine the 2015 finalists. Three finalists for the award will be named Tuesday, November 24. The Doak Walker Award National Selection Committee will cast a second vote, which will determine the 2015 recipient. The 2015 Doak Walker Award recipient will be announced live on The Home Depot College Football Awards on Thursday, December 10, on ESPN. The Award is named after three-time SMU All-America running back and 1948 Heisman Trophy winner Doak Walker. Walker, who also punted, returned kicks and kicked extra points, led the Mustangs to two Southwest Conference Championships. He was drafted by the Detroit Lions and led the league in scoring his rookie year. During his six years with the Lions, he led the team to two NFL championships and was chosen All-Pro four times. Walker is a member of both the College and Pro Football Halls of Fame. The 2015 recipient will be the 26th in the history of the award.
