With several conferences getting a late start to the season and The Home Depot College Football Awards now scheduled for Jan. 7, 2021 on ESPN, the NCFAA will push voting back to the dates outlined below for the awards featured on the show. • Semifinalists for each award will be chosen by Sun., Dec. 6 and announced on Mon., Dec. 7. Voting will run from Dec. 8-20 for each award. Bednarik Award • Three finalists for each award will be chosen by Sun., Dec. 20 and announced on Tues., Dec. 22, jointly with ESPN. Biletnikoff Award • Selection of each award winner will be determined by voting between Dec. 22-31 Bronko Nagurski Trophy and the formal winner announcements will take place on The Home Depot College Broyles Award Football Awards, which will be televised on ESPN on Jan. 7, 2021 from 7-8:30 p.m. ET, from Bristol, Conn. Burlsworth Trophy Nine of the association’s awards are formally presented annually on The Home Depot Butkus Award College Football Awards. Maxwell Award Statement from NCFAA President Mark Wolpert: Outland Trophy “The 2020 season has posed unprecedented challenges to the college football world Paul Hornung Award and each institution and conference is to be commended on the extraordinary efforts that have taken place to allow for games to be played. The student-athletes also Paycom Jim Thorpe Award deserve recognition for everything they have done, above and beyond the normal, Ray Guy Award which has made this season possible. Rimington Trophy Recognizing that several conferences have had late starts to the season and with The Home Depot College Football Awards being pushed to Jan. 7, 2021, the NCFAA, in Uplifting Athletes conjunction with ESPN, has decided to push our voting dates back into the latter Walter Camp Award part of December. We believe that this will afford all potential awards candidates the maximum opportunity to showcase their skills for the award voters, and allow teams William V. Campbell Trophy to compete in as many contests as possible. Wuerffel Trophy This season has been very fluid and everyone involved in college football has had to make adjustments on a week-to-week basis. We are grateful that the amazing efforts of so many people have allowed the season to play out.
