On Friday, the Jumbo Shrimp (22-31) took a first-inning lead. Pensacola right-hander Vladimir Gutierrez (1-8) walked left fielder Kyle Barrett – who stole second base – and hit center fielder Monte Harrison with a pitch. After a double steal, second baseman Isan Diaz hit an RBI single to right field. Right fielder John Norwood grounded to third baseman Taylor Sparks, but Harrison beat the throw home.
