Originally a seven series online novel by author Kinoko Nasu, the Garden of sinners was adapted into a feature film series with the first chapter, “Chapter 1: Thanatos” released in December of 2007 and the final chapter “Last Chapter: the Garden of sinners” released in December of 2010. The films saw great success at the Japanese box-office and broke numerous anime movie records by the seventh film.
