LAST GAME vs. BOSTON BRUINS The Devils fell to the Bruins, 3-2 in the shootout, in the first of eight contests of the 2020-21 regular season series. The club extends their point streak in season openers to five, dating back to the 2016-17 season.

New Jersey falls to 0-0-1 (1PT) against Boston in the season series and to 23-12-11 in openers.

The Devils were 3-5 on the penalty kill and 0-5 on the power play. The Bruins outshot the Devils, 37-22. New Jersey was 23-31 (41%) in face-offs tonight.

Miles Wood tallied the first goal of the season for the Devils, assisted by Jack Hughes.

Ty Smith and Yegor Sharangovich suited up for their first career NHL contest. TODAY’S GAME vs. BOSTON BRUINS Today’s matinee marks the second of eight between New Jersey and Boston in the 2020-21 regular season series and the first of 11 day contests for the club this season. Seven out of those 11 contests will be played at Prudential Center.
