Allyson Felix Sets Season Debut at American Track League; Ryan Crouser to Attempt to Best His Shot Put World Record
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE February 17, 2021 ALLYSON FELIX SETS SEASON DEBUT AT AMERICAN TRACK LEAGUE; RYAN CROUSER TO ATTEMPT TO BEST HIS SHOT PUT WORLD RECORD FAYETTEVILLE, AR: The final weekend of the American Track League indoor season is heating up with the most decorated woman in U.S. track and field history, as nine-time Olympic medalist Allyson Felix will kick off her 2021 season with a double in the Zenni Blokz 60m and the 200m sprint. Olympic gold medalist and 100m world record holder Aries Merritt will also make his season debut in the 60m hurdles, presented by Zenni Eyewear. Shot Put will be a feature event, as Ryan Crouser attempts to best his first throw of the ATL season on Jan 24th that broke the indoor world record at 74 feet, 10.5 inches (22.82). Crouser feels that with his rest and training, there is more there to accomplish. The women will also get their first chance this season to compete, featuring Raven Saunders who was fifth in the Rio Olympics. The American Track League 4 airs live from the Randal Tyson Track Center in Fayetteville, Arkansas on ESPN at 4pm Central.
