ITINERARY Day 1 Arrival in Salzburg Check in to the hotel, and ask the front desk where to pick up your bikes.

Day 2 Salzburg - Burghausen 55 km Today you start your cycle along the river, the path lead- ing you to Oberndorf. Oberndorf is famous worldwide as the birthplace of the Christmas carol . Connue onwards to Burghausen home of the longest castle in the world.

Day 3 Burghausen - Schärding 68 km Past the Inn-Salzach-lookout point you ride to Braunau and fur- ther along the Inn river to the 1000 year old city of Obernberg. Via Reichersberg you reach Schärding, a historic trad- ing town of old portals, gables, quiet corners and nar- row lanes.

Day 4 Schärding - Schlögen 58 km Today the route takes you first to "the city of three rivers" Pas- sau, then further along the Danube and all the way to the famous Danube loop of Schlögen (“Schlögener Schlinge”).

Day 5 Schlögen - 51 km Cycle to the colourful Danube market town of Aschach, connu- ing on to stop by for a vist to the Wilhering Monastery, to admire its style. Ride through Oensheim on the way to the vibrant city of Linz, your desnaon for today.

Day 6 Linz - Ardagger/Grein 65 km Via Mauthausen or Enns, the oldest town of Austria, you arrive via Wallsee to Ardagger/Grein, which marks the beginning of the Strudengau, named for the stretch of the Danube where once the riverbed was embedded with rocks that produced dreaded whirlpools.

Day 7 Ardagger/Grein - Melk/Emmersdorf 54 km The pilgrimage of Maria Taferl greets you from high above in the hills and shows you the way to Melk/Emmersdorf. Melk sits on the River Danube, west of Vienna. It’s known for the 11th-century Melk Abbey, a vast monastery built high above the town.

Day 8 Krems – Vienna 40 km + train ride Today you cycle through the gorgeous region. The goal of your journey by bike is Krems. Aer handing over your bike in our partner hotel you hop on the train to Vienna (eliminang the unscenic route through the suburbs), arriving to the city of the Riesenrad, the Imperial palaces and the Vienna waltz.

Day 9 Vienna Transfer back to Salzburg on your own or extend your stay in Vienna.

What to Expect
