HOW TO GET TO SALZBURG

Besides arriving at Salzburg Airport you can also fly either to Munich or to Vienna and travel to Salzburg by public transport.

FROM MUNICH-AIRPORT TO SALZBURG CITY

By train: From Munich-Airport you have to take the S-Bahn (either S1 or S8) to Munich- Hauptbahnhof (Central Station), or use S1 to Munich-Ostbahnhof (you can also use S8 but it is much slower to Ostbahnhof) depending where you have to change train. From Munich- Hauptbahnhof or Munich-Ostbahnhof there are frequent direct train connections to Salzburg. The whole trip takes between 2:15 and 2:30 hours. Regular one way prices start from 36 Euros depending which train you use between Munich and Salzburg. There is a limited number of early bird tickets available that start from 22 Euro (one direction and only valid on the booked train!). By bus: Flixbus offers a direct connection from Munich Airport to Salzburg Main train stations. The bus operates 3x per day and takes approximately 3 hours. The single ride starts from 16 Euro. The bus stops at Terminal 2, stop 21 + 22 in front of Terminal 2 and arrives close to Salzburg-Central Station. FROM VIENNA-AIRPORT TO SALZBURG CITY

By train: There is a frequent direct train connection from Vienna Airport to Salzburg. The trip takes about 3 hours and the regular price is about 60 Euro for one way. There is limited number of early bird tickets available that start from 19 Euro (one direction and only valid on the booked train!).
