HONORARY CAPTAIN — Former UCLA standout receiver J.J. Stokes will serve as the Bruin honorary captain against WSU. Stokes played on the 1991-94 UCLA teams and earned consensus All-America honors in 1993. He was named the Pac-10 Offensive Player of the Year following that 1993 season, after set- ting a school record with 82 catches. His 17 catches that year established a new school mark and matched the Pac-10 Conference record. He totaled 14 catches in the 1994 Rose Bowl game to set another record. Stokes still ranks No. 1 at UCLA with 28 career passes, No. 4 in receiving yardage (2,469) and receptions (154). He was on the receiving end of the longest pass play in school history, a 95-yard play from Wayne Cook in a 1993 game against Washington. In 1992, Stokes set the school individual game mark with 263 receiving yards in a contest against USC. Stokes went on to be selected with the 10th pick in the fi rst round of the 1995 NFL Draft by the . He also played with the Jaguars and for the champion in 2003.
