Vehicles will be equipped with a 4T65E transmission RPO codes M15, MN3, MN7 or M76. Recommendation/Instructions: For all vehicles that exhibit some type of fish-bite or shudder when the brake is released and the vehicle starts to move, evaluate as follows. With the steering wheel in the straight ahead position, release the brake and very lightly apply throttle and observe. Then re-evaluate with the steering at both left and then right lock, from a stop, release the brake pedal and lightly apply throttle, if condition is present at either left or right lock position and not with wheels straight ahead. The condition is considered a normal operating characteristic and no repairs should be performed. https://www.motologic.com/car/cbeb2d06-174b-102b-8293-001b2106f1f9/article/571367022f732b6193aac844f04f6267?returnPath=%2Fcar%2Fcbeb2… 1/2 1/5/2018 #PIP4618: Chuggle Or Shudder On Launch Or Creeping - (Apr 2, 2009) • 2005 Pontiac Bonneville • MotoLogic If the condition is observed with the wheels in the straight ahead position attempt to locate an area with a slight upward grade and re-perform the straight wheel test. If allowing the vehicle to move forward up a slight grade increases frequency of the condition, the most likely cause is the Input, third clutch housing (item 632). Replacing only the housing has been found in most cases to eliminate this concern. Please provide comments in the free-form as to what test results were obtained from the straight or turned wheel road evaluation. Note: The 2006 Buick Lucerne has a launch shudder concern that this PI may not pertain to. Call TAC for more information. Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed. GM bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, NOT a "do-it- yourselfer". They are written to inform these technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the WE SUPPORT proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, VOLUNTARY tools, safety instructions, and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a TECHNICIAN condition is described, DO NOT assume that the bulletin applies to your CERTIFICATION vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See your GM dealer for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information. https://www.motologic.com/car/cbeb2d06-174b-102b-8293-001b2106f1f9/article/571367022f732b6193aac844f04f6267?returnPath=%2Fcar%2Fcbeb2… 2/2.
