The moderators, and the schedule and locations for the debates (as announced on September 23, 2015), are as follows: First presidential debate: Lester Holt, Anchor, NBC Nightly News Monday, September 26, Hofstra University, Hempstead, NY Vice presidential debate: Elaine Quijano, CBS News Correspondent and CBSN Anchor Tuesday, October 4, Longwood University, Farmville, VA Second presidential debate (town meeting): Martha Raddatz, Chief Global Affairs Correspondent and Co-Anchor of “This Week,” ABC Anderson Cooper, Anchor, CNN Sunday, October 9, Washington University in St. Louis, St. Louis, MO Third presidential debate: Chris Wallace, Anchor, Fox News Sunday Wednesday, October 19, University of Nevada, Las Vegas, Las Vegas, NV The CPD also announced that Steve Scully, Senior Executive Producer, White House and Political Editor for C-SPAN Networks, will serve as backup moderator for all the debates. Fahrenkopf and McCurry said that, "These journalists bring extensive experience to the job of moderating, and understand the importance of using expanded time periods effectively. The formats chosen for this year's debates are designed to build on the formats introduced in 2012, which focused big blocks of time on major domestic and foreign topics.

    Keck School of Medicine Commencement Address by CHARLES GIBSON May 16, 2015 When speaking on an occasion such as this one – a good speaker will try to judge the mood of his audience. I suspect some of you may feel a bit nostalgic at this last gathering of your class – some may feel giddy. I am told it is the largest gathering of your class – since you gathered at Barbara’s Brewery right after exams. This is a great occasion – you get one of those medical school parchments that you’ll frame and put on your office wall someday to prove to patients that you’re not some quack. However this day probably doesn’t hold a candle to the day you’ll finally get a longer white coat. Thank you for the applause – somewhat tepid to be sure, but appreciated particularly since, if media observers and experts are to be believed, few of you have any idea who I am. Young people your age don’t watch television news. Not at the dinner hour where I toiled for four years or even morning television where I sleepwalked for nineteen. During those years at Good Morning America I got up every weekday morning at 3:20 a.m. Don’t complain to me about the hours you’ll work during internship and residency. I’m one of the few people in the world outside the medical profession who understands. You are headed for permanent jet lag. A few folks do remember what I did, and thus on occasion I get invited to a grand event such as this one.
