LES SAISIES FAMILY RESORT & MOUNTAIN VILLAGEiFRANCE (73) #L’ALTARENA #CRT4* #ESSENTIAL RANGE 30 Apartments Top-of-the-range Mountain from 1 to 4 bedrooms amenities views ESPACE DIAMANT Once upon a time… The resort of Les Saisies, a large plateau in Beaufortain, was founded in 1935 when Erwin Eckl arrived at Albertville station. The Austrian, a ski instructor from Innsbruck in Tyrol, alighted onto the platform at Albertville station on a beautiful morning in November 1935 with just a trunk and a pair of skis for luggage. The first season went well and, having fallen in love with the area, Erwin Eckl decided to stay and set up his own business in the hotel industry. So he bought a barn with his father-in-law (he married a young woman from Lyon, Hélène Comte, on 8 August 1936) and they agreed to turn it into a hotel. Thus, the first hotel in Les Saisies opened its doors in 1936. The ski resort of Les Saisies was born! The first ski lift in Les Saisies was built by Raymond Clément-Guy, in a place known as ‘Les Pémonts’, with materials from the 20s. The French ski school in Les Saisies was set up in 1937 by Erwin Eckl and Georges Braisaz. By 1968, there were 13 instructors. The Bisanne chairlift was built in the 1963-1964 season; the Periots, Soleil, Chamois, Palette, Boëtet, Gentianes and Marmotte chairlifts were built between 1971 and 1977. In 1985, Claude Mathaly increased the number of ski lifts and connected them to Crest-Voland: Espace Cristal! Régie des Remontées Mécaniques, a ski lift management company, was created in 1998 to differentiate the skiing business and enable the development and refurbishment of the ski area.

The main goal of this study was to 2 18 34 18 demonstrate that combination of classic geochemical tools and isotopic tools (δ H and δ O of water, δ SSO4 and δ OSO4 of sulfates, 87Sr/86Sr) can lead to a better understanding of surface water - groundwater interactions for a main alluvial aquifer in the Alpes mountains (Isère River alluvial aquifer) used for drinking water supply. We report here the results that identified 3 aquifer units based on groundwater recharge. © 20152015 Published The Authors. by Elsevier Published B.V. • French Alps & Lakes SG Cycling
FRANCE – FRENCH ALPS & LAKES FROM GENEVA TO ANNECY 6-days / 5-nights moderate inn-to-inn SELF-GUIDED cycling taking in three iconic French lakes From Lake Geneva with its distinctive fountain to Lake Annecy at the foot of the Alps, this unique cycling holiday encourages those looking for a leisurely relaxed ride and those experienced riders wanting a start in the French Alps without climbing serious mountains or conquering Classic Cols of the Tour de France. Starting across the Swiss border in the city of Geneva, our cycling route threads its way between the mountains, following the scenic river valleys to the spectacular French lakeside town of Annecy. Your hotels are pre-booked and your luggage has been transported ahead and on most days we have a choice of riding distance depending on your abilities and interests. The French Alps were formed around 35 million years ago when the tectonic plates of Africa and Eurasia collided – causing the earth to be forced upwards towards the sky creating colossal peaks of up to 1000km high. Although a seriously dramatic region, we focus on using the diversity of the French Alps as a backdrop, weaving between the peaks, linking the three major lakes of the area (Lake Geneva, Lake Bourget, and reputedly Europe’s cleanest lake, Lake Annecy). Following the paths along the Rhône and Isère rivers, we take in historic villages, stunning natural scenery, lush meadows and valleys, and picturesque peaks along the way. Pack your swimsuit in case you can’t resist the call of the lake (or all three lakes) and the thermal baths of Aix-les-Bains! Departs: Fridays and Sundays from April to October 2020 Other start days may be available on request, subject to a minimum of 4 people.

Lush greenery or white desert, depending on the seasons, between Aravis, Mont Blanc and Beaufortain, Val d’Arly is a territory of wisdom and knowledge. It has kept alive the legacy of its ancestors. Today, it passes on, to those who listen, the wisdom of the mountain. Here we combine know-how, life and social skills of past, present and future. Hier münden noch das Können und die Lebenskunst vergangener Zeiten in die Gegenwart und Zukunft SUISSE GENÈVE to LYON or PARIS SALLANCHES Chamonix La Clusaz ANNECY LA GIETTAZ EN ARAVIS Megève NOTRE DAME FLUMET DE BELLECOMBE ST NICOLAS-LA-CHAPELLE CREST-VOLAND / COHENNOZ Ugine Les Saisies ITALIE ALBERTVILLE CHAMBÉRY Bourg St-Maurice to LYON to MOÛTIERS to TURIN to GRENOBLE 3 CREST-VOLAND / COHENNOZ FLUMET / ST NICOLAS LA CHAPELLE LA GIETTAZ EN ARAVIS NOTRE DAME DE BELLECOMBE CREST-VOLAND Cohennoz We have fun with the family on the Ludoparc and mountain bike descents.
