OUR VIEW County should pull trigger on gun range e think the proposed target range at the county’s clay pit on Coun- Wty Road 17A in Avon Park is a good idea. For one thing, it will bring in money from outside the county that is currently headed out. For another, what is now an abandoned, overgrown and ugly site will be brought back to life and put to use. Highlands County can certainly use a safe gun range overseen by National Ri- fl e Association certifi ed personnel. Gun owners need a place where they practice and have fun. Parents need a place where they can teach their children how to shoot and handle a gun safely. The 4-H Club had to disband its gun program because of the lack of a facility.
