Age-Friendly Holiday Events Did You Know… In the darkest depth of winter there is a lot of holiday magic to be had if you go out to brave the cold: 1. The most magic of all, perhaps, the holiday concerts, plays and pageants put on by your grandchildren – every audience member eager to cheer and applaud. 2. The COA provides various events for seniors, both members and non-members, year- round. Our events range from lunch hour information sessions, to continuing education seminars, to half-day conferences with topics like social inclusion, spirituality, International Women’s Day. We have also run health and computer literacy sessions. Our 2017 events are now over, but stay tuned. We’ll soon be announcing our calendar of French and English events for 2018 through our website www.coaottawa.ca/, INFO- FLASH Events newsletter, and Facebook. 3. December 17, 2017 The Stadium at TD Place, 1015 Bank Street, the Ottawa 67s against the Gatineau Olympiques. 7. Walk through and drive through Christmas light displays: Until January 7, 2018 Canada’s Capital Region will be illuminated. See thousands of lights along Confederation Boulevard Taffy Lane, Orleans - This street has a well-deserved reputation across Ottawa as having the best neighbourhood light display. Belcourt Boulevard, Orleans: just South of St. Joseph. Until January 6, 2018 Gift of Lights – Wesley Clover Parks - Gift of Lights is a family-friendly 2 kilometre drive-thru holiday light display in support of the Sens Foundation. $20 + HST per vehicle. Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays to December 17, 2017, 3 pm to 8 pm. Vintage Village of Lights @ Cumberland Heritage Village Museum - Take in the 30,000 lights, singalong to your favourite carol then experience a horse-drawn wagon ride. More info… Until January 6, 2018 on select nights Alight at Night Festival at Upper Canada Village - Over a one million lights adorn the heritage buildings, trees and fences of Upper Canada Village creating a one-of-a-kind magical backdrop for its annual festival.
