Introduction

While people begin to depend on television shows, there are many television shows here in the world to entertain us. There are television shows like reality shows, which gives people the insight of celebrity stardom. There are news and current events to help us be aware of other cultures and people. Television shows can also be educational for everyone. I will analyze the message the television show is trying to project, the creators and how it gets the attention of the audience. I will identify the type of audiences and what are their feelings towards this particular television show. Also, what the values and point of view of this particular television show. The name of this television show is Scandal, which air every Thursday on ABC network and is considered a political drama.

The Message

Scandal is considered a political drama. It takes place in my hometown of Washington

According to Potter (2014), the plot relies on fast paced action that maximizes arousal in the audience. Sandal captures the audience attention because of the drama, sex, and power. Audience: Interpretation

The general audience may take this show as very entertaining or assuming the action being portrayed is true. As well as sex appeal and violence. African

American women look at this show as powerful and about time women is taking charge. Men may perceive this show as another woman trying to be bossy and use sex to get what they want.

Purpose: The Reason for the Message

Scandal message is to show everyone people with power will do whatever they want to get what they want. It shows how women can be intelligent and command power. It gives a reality check on what’s behind closed doors. It gives confidence to women and show we can do anything.
