The Leadership Wooster class spent Wednesday, April 5, 2017 learning about City & County Government. The day started at Fire Station #3 with an overview of the Wooster City Police Department from Police Chief Matthew Fisher. Don Hall, Director of Medway, also gave an overview to the class. The students were also able to participate in the Fire Arms Training Simulator Activity & witness a K-9 Demo. Chief Barry Saley talked to the class about the Wooster Fire Department. The day continued at City Hall where the Mayor Bob Breneman talked to the class about City of Wooster Government. After City Hall, the class visited the Wayne County Municipal Court where Wayne County Commissioner Ron Amstutz gave an overview of Wayne County Government. The class then heard an overview of the Wayne County Sherriff’s Department from Chief Deputy Doug Johnson & Captain Doug Hunter and heard from the Wayne County Prosecutor, Dan Lutz. Next, Karl Kubb and Judge Vansickle talked to the class about the Wayne County Municipal Court & HOPE Court. The last portion of the day was used for a mock trial activity that the class was able to participate in.
