o Alberta Railway Museum [http://www.albertarailwaymuseum.com/] o Experience the past in a fun, hands-on and interactive fashion at the largest railway museum in Alberta. The Alberta Railway Museum (ARM) houses a collection of railway equipment and buildings. The main emphasis is on cars and locomotives from the Canadian National Railways (CNR) and Northern Alberta Railways (NAR). Over 75 cars and locomotives on site. Drop in and take a ride on vintage trains, speeders and railway equipment (see calendar online for details). o City of Edmonton Archives [http://archivesphotos.edmonton.ca/] o Located in the historic Prince of Wales Armories Heritage Centre, the City of Edmonton Archives is a public research facility housing civic government and private records documenting Edmonton's history. Established in 1971, the Archives are administered by the Community Services Department. o Hours of operation: Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri: 8:30AM - 4:30PM and Weds: 8:30a.m - 8p.m. Closed statutory and civic holidays. o Note – limited service between 12PM – 1PM. o Father Lacombe Chapel [http://culture.alberta.ca/museums/historicsiteslisting/fatherlacombechapel/default.aspx] o Father Lacombe built this chapel, Alberta’s oldest building, as part of the Metis settlement in St. Albert. Take a stroll through the cemetery, or visit the crypt where Father Lacombe and Bishop Grandin are buried. Interpretive guide-lead tours through the chapel and surrounding historic Mission Hill site are available. o Rutherford House Provincial Historic Site [http://culture.alberta.ca/museums/historicsiteslisting/rutherfordhouse/default.aspx] o For many years, Rutherford House welcomed the political and social elite of Alberta. Today, this restored post-Edwardian mansion maintains that tradition of hospitality and recaptures the spirit of Edmonton in 1915. Costumed interpreters recreate daily household activities, reenact important events in Rutherford's life and lead guided tours of his home. A special highlight of the museum is the multi-media presentation featuring Xeldon, the talking robot and great historical footage of Edmonton.
