Campuses that are part of a larger university system as listed in Table 1 may petition for an exemption to this rule (see Part III, B for information). ii Data obtained from the table of Federal Obligations for science and engineering to the 100 universities and colleges receiving the largest amounts, ranked by total amount received in FY 2018 using the survey of Federal Science and Engineering Support to Universities, Colleges, and Nonprofit Institutions (National Science Foundation).
