This project is part of the people-centered strategic reinvention 4th GSIC adopted by Real Sociedad through which the company hopes to foster a better connection with their fans. Networking Following the agreement, Microsoft will become the Meeting technological partner of the club from Guipúzcoa. This partnership offers many potential benefits, for instance, the club will be able to count on the full power of the Microsoft Azure big data techonology, making available to the club all the necessary resources to offer its followers a wide range of customized 1 Strategic Partners content and new ways to interact with the community. Statistics of players, historical club data, and detailed information on matches and competitions are just some of the data and information that are now available in a simple way and in a very attractive visual format. This agreement demonstrates how sport and its agents can rely on technology to achieve new goals that benefit fans and society in general. "Together, we will be a clear benchmark of digital transformation in the sports industry, supported by the power of the Microsoft cloud and by innovative solutions that enable personalized experiences, 3D and virtual reality, new content and services for all fans inside and outside the stadium, every day, from any device", said Sebastián Lancestremère, Global Microsoft Sports CEO. LATEST NEWS First GSIC General Assembly The GSIC held on May 31st its first General Members Assembly, which served to share finantial results of the activities organized by the Centre in its first year of life, and also to define the activities and budget for 2016. The ecosystem of sport related companies and organizations created by the GSIC added its 70 members in December 2015 since its launch in May 2015 and welcomes more than 90 today. Also, the GSIC hosted 65 events which were attended by more than 1,100 people. The GSIC Solution Demonstration Center, a showroom area specifically designed to provide visibility to the latest technological innovations in sports developed by the partners, received 12,400 visits in 2015. This information is available in the GSIC 2015 Annual Report, which was presented to the Assembly and was approved unanimously. • Download the GSIC 2015 Annual Report 2 Strategic Partners The GSIC hosts the first edition of Entrepreneurs Support Project in sports of Madrid region The GSIC hosted the presentation of the finalists of the first edition of the Entrepreneurs Support Project in sports of the Community of Madrid, an initiative to which 45 projects were submitted, 16 of which had the opportunity to participate in workshops, seminars, roundtables and tutorials with renouned professionals in the business field. The finalists, chosen by experts according to feasibility criteria were: Workout Challenge, Tips2Top, App Sport, Monby, Wedding Fit, Belvegese and Be Top Fit. The Vice-Minister of Non-University Education, Youth and Sports, Carmen Gonzalez, gave the entrepreneur finalists an accrediting diploma. Conference ‘Innovation and Talent in Sport Industry’, 28/29 June On the occasion of the FIBA World U17, to be held from June 22nd to July 3rd in Zaragoza and Utebo, the Spanish Basketball Federation has organized the Conference "Innovation and Talent in the sports industry" during the 28th and 29th of June. The Conference will be held in the Auditorium of the Zaragoza CaixaForum and will be structured in five thematic blocks: · "Talent Development through Sport". 3 Strategic Partners · "Technological innovation for sport." · "Sport as an engine of wealth creation". · "Sport as a vehicle for social transformation." · “Work in the service of talent." The general director of GSIC, Iris Córdoba, will participate with a presentation on the impact of technology in the world of sport. Working Group on Education, led by UCJC/SEK Institution On June, 29th at 11:00 h. the first meeting of the Working Group on Education will be held. It will be coordinated by our strategic partner Camilo José Cela University / Educational Institution SEK. At the meeting, which will take place at 11:00 h. at the headquarters of the Centre (c / Goya, 90 - Madrid), two projects that the Educational Institution SEK wants to share with the other partners to explore synergies will be addressed: - Master's Degree "Sports management and technology" - SEK International Sports Academy GSIC partners interested in joining this working group can register through eventos@sport- gsic.com. SYNERGIES AT GSIC Basketball Club CB Gran Canaria to test mental training software of Graffos Basketball club CB Gran Canaria and tech start-up Graffos have agreed to collaborate to test the start-up´s mental training software. ACB Gran Canaria youth basketball team as well as various other players of the club will begin to employ this mental training technology this upcoming season. 4 Strategic Partners The technology works through the science of grapho-psychology which uses handwriting analysis as a tool of re-education. District Room also brings much experience in creating sport content for large brands and channels. iAltitude (www.ialtitude.es) This company has developed a system of high altitude training that can be used anywhere in the world, with a high degree of precision, safety, and personalization. The altitude training system is based in cloud technology and utilizes predictive models which draw upon information and experience that have been accumulated over more than 15 years. World Football Summit (www.worldfootballsummit.com) World Football Summit (WFS) is the first large soccer convention at an international level in Spain which will include the most outstanding agents in the sector. The summit will be held on the 27th and 28th of October in Madrid which will become the soccer capital of the world during these two days. Visit the new ¨Newsletter¨ section on the GSIC website 5 Strategic Partners The 2016 Annual Report of Sports Statistics from the High Sports Council offers a complete study of the sport sector in Spain The Ministry of Education, Culture, and Sport, along with the High Sports Council, has published the fourth edition of the annual report of sport statistics, an exhaustive study of the sport sector in Spain. The report summarizes various aspects of the sector including information on employment, public investment, teaching, tourism generated by attendance to competicions and events, the number of federally liscenced clubs, the census of sport facilities, the overall commerce of the sector, as well as consumer habits. Download the Annual Report of Sport Statistics NEWS FROM OUR PARTNERS NBN23 to represent Europe at a competition for 100,000€ in Rio The Valencian company, Nothingbutnet (NBN23) emerged victorious in the European edition of the Global Sports Innovation Competition, organized by the Hype Foundation which took place in the University of Trento (Italy). NBN23 was chosen as the best European start-up from a pool of 123 companies who came to present. The victory of NBN23 qualifies them to represent all of Europe at the final international competition which will be held in Rio De Janerio during the Olympic Games, the winner of which will be awarded a grand prize of 100,000 euros. 6 Strategic Partners NBN23 will compete with seven other start-ups representing their own territories at this final competition in which they will present their ideas in front of an audience of investors, promoters,
