These beds reach their greatest thickness in depressions between topographic highs and thin towards, and finally disappear on, the crests. The early Late Kimmeridgian graded packstone–bindstone alternations represent the earliest plattenkalk occurrence in southern Germany. The undisturbed lamination of the sediment strongly points to oxygen-free conditions on the seafloor and within the sediment, inimical to higher forms of life. The plattenkalk contains a diverse biota of benthic and nektonic organisms. Excavation of a 13 cm thick plattenkalk unit across an area of 80 m2 produced 3500 fossils, which, with the exception of the bivalve Aulacomyella, exhibit a random stratigraphic distribution. Two-thirds of the individuals had a benthic mode of life attached to hard substrate. This seems to contradict the evidence of oxygen-free conditions on the sea floor, such as undisturbed lamination, presence of articulated skeletons, and preservation of soft parts. -

We are pleased and honored to welcome at the Paléospace Museum of Villers-sur-Mer the “6th Symposium on Mesozoic and Cenozoic Decapod Crustaceans”. Villers-sur-Mer is a place universally known by specialists and amateurs of palaeontology due to its famous Vaches Noires cliffs. Villers-sur-Mer has also the distinction of being the only French seaside resort located on the Greenwich Meridian line. The Paléospace is a Museum funded in 2011 with the label Musée de France. Three main animations linked to the Time are presented: palaeontology, astronomy and nature with the neighbouring marsh. The museum is in a constant evolution. For instance, an exhibition specially dedicated to dinosaurs was opened two years ago and a planetarium will open next summer. Every year a very high quality temporary exhibition takes place during the summer period with very numerous animations during all the year. The Paléospace does not stop progressing in term of visitors (56 868 in 2015) and its notoriety is universally recognized both by the other museums as by the scientific community. We are very proud of these unexpected results. We thank the dynamism and the professionalism of the Paléospace team which is at the origin of this very great success. We wish you a very good stay at Villers-sur-Mer, a beautiful visit of the Paléospace and especially an excellent congress. (1996). La recente scoperta di un piccolo campione, rivenuto nella Valle del Rio Seazza e in quella del Rio Rovadia, ha permesso un aggiornamento relativo ai crostacei decapodi delle Prealpi Carniche. Gli esemplari studiati sono stati assegnati a Acanthochirana triassica n. sp. (Aegeridae Burkenroad, 1963) e Antrimpos colettoi n. sp. (Penaeidae Rafinesque, 1815). Acanthochirana triassica n. sp. estende il range stratigrafico di questo genere nel Triassico superiore, mentre Antrimpos colettoi n. sp. rappresenta la seconda specie di questo genere segnalata nel Triassico superiore d’Italia. La scoperta di queste due nuove specie incrementa il numero delle specie di peneidi conosciuti nel Norico dell’alta Val Ta- gliamento (Prealpi Carniche settentrionali). Parole chiave: Crustacea, Decapoda, Aegeridae, Penaeidae, Triassico superiore, Prealpi Carniche. Abstract - The decapod crustaceans from the Upper Triassic (Norian) of the Dolomia di Forni Formation were reported by Garassino et al. (1996). The recent discovery of a small sample from this Formation between Seazza and Rovadia brooks allowed updating the decapod assemblages from the Norian of Carnic Pre-Alps. -
Stratigraphic Implications of a New Lower Cretaceous Ammonoid Fauna from the Puez Area (Valanginian – Aptian, Dolomites, Southern Alps, Italy)

The cephalopod fauna from the marly limestones to marls here indicates Late Valanginian to Early Aptian age. The deposition of the marly limestones and marls of this interval occurred during depositional- ly unstable conditions. The underlying Biancone Formation (Maiolica Formation) is of Early Valanginian, whereas the lowermost Rosso Ammonitico is of Jurassic to Berriasian age. The ammonoid fauna consists of 27 different genera, each represented by 1-2 species. The assemblage at the Puez section is dominated by the Phylloceratina (30%) and the Ammonitina (34%). Phyllopachyceras (17%) and Phylloceras (13%) (both Phylloceratina) are the most frequent components, followed by Lytoceras (12%) (Lytoceratina), and Barremites (10%) and Melchiorites (8%) (both Ammonitina). The cephalopod fauna is purely of Mediterranean origin. Zusammenfassung Unterkreide Ammonoideen (424 Exemplare) der Puez Lokalität in den Dolomiten Süd-Tirols wurden unter- sucht. Die Fauna der mergeligen Kalke und Mergel von Puez zeigen ein Alter von Ober-Valanginium bis Unter-Aptium an. Die mergeligen Kalke und Mergel dieses Abschnitts lagerten sich unter instabiler Bedingungen ab. Die unterlagernde Biancone Formation (Maiolica Formation) zeigt Unter-Valanginium an, wogegen die tiefste Formation des Rosso Ammonitico auf Ober-Jura bis Berriasium hindeutet. -

Glyphea (Glyphea) muensteri (Voltz), together with numerous dromiacean prosopid crabs, are associated with the decapod lobster described in this study. The decapod fauna occupied sponge megafacies, well known from throughout Europe, from Portugal, Spain, France, Germany, Poland and Romania. The decapods prefer inter- and/or peri (or extra)- bioherm environments surrounding the cyanobacteria-sponge bioherms. Streszczenie Z utworów wapieni plytowych s´rodkowego oksfordu okolic Krakowa opisano nowy gatunek (nalez˙ a˛cy do nowego rodzaju) dziesie˛cionogiego homara Galicia marianae, oraz gatunek Glyphea (Glyphea) muensteri (Voltz, 1835), znany wczes´niej z obszaru Polski centralnej. Zilustrowano równiez˙ zespól krabów (z rodziny Prosopidae) który dominuje w obre˛bie malych bioherm wapieni ga˛bkowych, znajduja˛cych sie˛ w obre˛bie wapieni plytowych tych samych stanowisk (np. dolina Szklarki). This report represents the fi rst record in America for the species, previously reported from Aptian deposits of Europe. The numerous specimens of a relatively uniform size found in a single stratigraphic level suggests a mass mortality event, favorable conditions for the development of the community, or both. The stratigraphic range for the genus Meyeria is confi rmed to be Lower to Upper Cretaceous. Key words: Crustacea, Mecochiridae, Meyeria, Aptian, Colombia. Crustáceos decápodos (Arthropoda: Crustacea: Decapoda) de aguas profundas del Pacífico mexicano: lista de especies y material recolectado durante el proyecto TALUD Michel E. Hendrickx1 INTRODUCCIÓN Los crustáceos decápodos son organismos omnipresentes en los mares y océanos de la Tierra y han sido encontrados desde la zona intermareal hasta las profundida- des abisales. Contienen los muy conocidos cangrejos, los camarones, los langosti- nos y las langostas. Algunas especies son particularmente llamativas por su forma y sus colores. El grupo de los crustáceos decápodos corresponde a una orden dentro del filo de los Arthropoda (Subfilo Crustacea: Orden Decapoda). Se caracteriza por tener un caparazón generalmente bien calcificado y (salvo algunas excepciones) 10 pares de “patas” (o pereiópodos) que sirven como apéndices prensiles o para desplazarse. Contiene unas 18000 especies y está formado por dos subórdenes y 10 infraordenes. El primer suborden, los Dendrobranchiata, corresponde, entre otras especies, a los camarones clásicos (e.g., los Penaeidae que se pescan en las costas de México). Los Pleocyemata, el segundo suborden de decápodos, contiene todas las demás especies de camarones, langostinos, langostas y cangrejos reparti- das entre 10 infraordenes (Stenopodidea, Caridea, Astacidea, Glypheidea, Axiidea, 1 Laboratorio de Invertebrados Bentónicos, Instituto de Ciencias del Mar y Limnología, Uni- dad Académica Mazatlán, Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, Joel Montes Cama- rena s/n, Mazatlán 82040, Sinaloa, México. Abstract The purpose of the study was to provide conclusive evidence for a chronostratigraphical assignment of the Qihulin Formation of the Longzhaogou Group exposed in Mishan and Hulin counties of eastern Heilongjiang, northeastern China. To develop an integrated view of the formation, all collected fossil groups, i.e. the macrofossils (ammonites and bivalves) and microfossils (agglutinated foraminifers and radiolarians) have been studied. The low-diversity ammonite fauna consists of Pseudohaploceras Hyatt, 1900, and Eogaudryceras Spath, 1927, which indicate a Barremian–Aptian age. The bivalve fauna consists of eight genera and 16 species. The occurrence of Thracia rotundata (J. de C: Sowerby) suggests an Aptian age. The agglutinated foraminifers comprise ten genera and 16 species, including common Lower Cretaceous species such as Ammodiscus rotalarius Loeblich & Tappan, 1949, Cribrostomoides? nonioninoides (Reuss, 1836), Haplophragmoides concavus (Chapman, 1892), Trochommina depressa Lozo, 1944. Two new species of decapod crustacean, Hoploparia miyamotoi (Astacidea: Nephropidae) and Caiiianassa masanorii (Thalassinidea: Callianassidae), are described from the Upper Cretaceous Izumi Group of Osaka and Hyogo Prefectures, Japan. H. miyamotoi represents the first record for the genus from Cretaceous deposits of Japan and C. masanorii is the second of a callianassid known from the Japanese Cretaceous. The occurrence of H. miyamotoi extends the known geographic range of Hoploparia to the west side of the North Pacific.
