1284-1327 Edward II, succeeded his father Edward I in 1307; deposed and then murdered in 1327. 1312-1377 Edward III, son of Edward II, reigned 1327-1377.

1330-1376 Black Prince or Prince Edward of Wales, father Edward III, mother Philippa of Hainault. Son Richard II 1377-99. 1377-1399 Richard II, married Anne of Bohemia and Isabella of Valois. Childless.

1520-1585 Thomas Apperley

1545- Thomas Apperley married Ann in 1568.

1571-1646 William Apperley married Joan Scudamore (1600- 1648).

1630- Anthony Apperley married Anne Cornewall in 1671.

1674-1735 Thomas Apperley married Elizabeth Westfalling (1674-1743) in1698.

1701-1740 Thomas Apperley married Mary Caswell; Officer of Rank in the British Army; his head was taken off by a cannon-shot at the siege of Carthagena in 1740. My great x 4 grandfather. 1734-1819 Thomas Apperley (1739-1816 according to Nimrod) married Ann(e) Wynn(e) in 1755; 2 sons and 6 daughters; my great great great grandfather. Immortalised in 1768 oil (Rome) by Pompeo Batoni (1708-1787).

Charles James Apperley aka Nimrod born Plasgronow, Denbigh, Nr. Wrexham, Wales; my great great grandfather.

Married Elizabeth Wynne in 1810 and Sarah Taylor in 1835, his wife's maid, with whom he had had several illegitimate children.

NB. His mother was Anne Wynne of Merioneth, my great great great grandmother, a descendant through the female line from King Edward I.

1807-1870 Captain/Colonel William Wynne Apperley (H.I.E.C.S.) 4th Bengal Light Cavalry, born Bitterley Court, Shropshire, England; died at Morben Court Nr. Machynlleth, Montgomeryshire, Wales; married Esther Catherine Wallace; 8 children. My great grandfather.

1844-1891 William Wynne Apperley born Poosah, India; died Alton, Hampshire, England; married Margaret Tremenheere daughter of Major General George Borlase Tremenheere (1806-1896). My grandfather.

1884-1960 My father George Owen Wynne Apperley RA RI, born Ventnor, Isle of Wight, England; died Tangier in 1960. Married Enriqueta Contreras Carretero (1903-1980). Sons George (1924-2003) and Henry (Riki). Two daughters (Doris and Philippa)and a son (Edward) with first wife Hilda Pope (1891-1981). 1935- Henry (Riki) Apperley married Mary Stark; two sons Jason and Glenn.
