Inspired by the Neill-Cochran House Museum book club’s first selection, I saac’s Storm, this NCHM tour will explore Texas Gulf history with visits to historic sites and highlights of Galveston

APPROXIMATE SCHEDULE
DAY 1 Neill-Cochran House Museum: Meet for coffee and chartered coach departure Elisabet Ney Museum ( short visit) Hempstead: Liendo Plantation (Elisabet Ney’s pre-Austin residence) Box lunch en route to Galveston La Porte: San Jacinto Monument (1936) Welcome dinner: 1 3 Restaurant on the way into Galveston Hotel check-in: historic Hotel Galvez ( 1911) -- 3 nights
DAY 2 Oil Rig Museum a nd “Isaac’s Storm” film about the 1900 storm Seaport Museum and Tall Ship Elissa (1877) Group lunch: W illie G’s Bryan Museum, in the Galveston Orphans Home, 1880 Dinner on your own; suggestions: M iller’s or Saltwater Grill
DAY 3 Moody Mansion, 1895 (visit 20 rooms on four floors) Lunch on your own at M osquito Café or Sunflower Bakery Bishop’s Palace, 1892 Grand Opera House, 1894 Stroll T he Strand, d inner at F ish Tales
DAY 4 FREE MORNING Hotel Galvez’ famous Sunday brunch West Columbia: V arner-Hogg Plantation (1824) Boxed snack en route to Austin Late afternoon arrival at N eill-Cochran House Museum
COST: $1600 per person (sharing double room; single supplement: $500) Includes: chartered ground transportation, 3 nights hotel, daily breakfast vouchers, all museum admissions, guides, gratuities, several meals as listed; travel insurance, readings; commentary from Karen Pope, art historian and NCHM board chair
CONDITIONS: All travelers must • have completed Covid-19 vaccination protocol at least by June 10 • wear masks while onboard the coach • be NCHM Members at $150 level or above (B ecome a Member) Group size limited to 20 travelers

In consideration of my participation in this study tour, I hereby accept all risk to my health and of my injury that may result from such participation and I hereby release The Neill-Cochran House Museum, Art Wise TX, and Barbara Newey personally from any and all liability to me, my personal representatives, estate, heirs, next of kin, and assigns for any and all claims and causes of action for loss of or damage to my property and for any and all illnesses or injury to my person, including my death, that may result from or occur during my participation in the tour. I further agree to indemnify and hold harmless The Neill-Cochran House Museum, Art Wise TX, and Barbara Newey personally from liability for the injury or death of any person(s) and damage to property that may result from my negligent or intentional act or omission while participating in the tour.
