Founded in 1842, the New York Philharmonic is the oldest symphony in the United States, and one of the oldest in the world. Each season the Philharmonic connects with up to 50 million music lovers through live concerts in , worldwide tours, and residencies, as well as its digital recording series; international broadcasts on television, radio, and online; and through its varied education programs and expansive digital archive. With the renovation of , the New York Philharmonic is now poised for transformation, exciting growth, and development.

The New York Philharmonic seeks a Development Associate to process gifts, provide concierge ticket service for donors, and support the Individual Giving and Development Operations teams.

Responsibilities:

 Provide concierge ticket and subscription service for Patrons, Circle members, Board Members, and other Major Donors; work closely with Manager, Donor Services to answer Patron Desk phone line and email inbox, and assist donors with ticket requests, contributions, and other inquiries  Answer Friends phone line and monitor Friends, Membership, and Young New Yorkers inboxes to assist with contributions and general inquiries  Assist with virtual and in-person membership events including sending invitations, tracking RSVPs, sending follow-up and other communications, and assisting with Zoom logistics  Assist with preparation and sending of donor correspondence including renewal and solicitation letters, acknowledgement letters and receipts, direct mail, and other donor correspondence  Provide administrative support to Friends, Patrons, Young New Yorkers, and Non-Membership Individual Giving programs including printing and mailing of membership cards, invoice processing, benefit fulfillment, telesales, and digital fundraising  Process daily gifts received and maintain associated memberships and donor listing preferences  Act as liaison with Finance department for any adjustments and complex gift processes. Post contributed income and handle financial reporting occasionally  Manage recurring credit card transactions  Generate and regularly update donor listings  Perform ongoing database maintenance (e.g. addresses, phone numbers, relationships)  Other duties as assigned  Miscellaneous duties as required.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree with one to two years development experience, preferably in a cultural institution; strong computer and data skills ( experience is highly valued); strong customer service orientation and effective communication skills, including the ability to successfully work in a collaborative, team-oriented environment, required. Ability to produce under deadlines and work independently and effectively.
