  • Continuing Education Fall 2018 Course Catalog
TOWNSHIP HIGH SCHOOL DISTRICT 211 UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION BLUE RIbbON SCHOOLS OF EXCELLENCE Continuing Education Fall 2018 Course Catalog James B. Conant • William Fremd • Hoffman Estates • Palatine • Schaumburg Message from the Superintendent An American author and philosopher once suggested, “Always walk through life as if you have something new to learn, and you will.” The start of each new school year invites all of us to learn something new, and we are again pleased to offer our Continuing Education program for people throughout the community to learn about a wide range of enjoyable topics in a comfortable environment. The mission of our Continuing Education program in Township High School District 211 Dr. Cates is to provide easy access to life-long learning that can continue to enrich one’s life. Our pro- grams offer a full range of interesting courses taught by encouraging and supportive instructors. The courses are offered in a number of different locations, commonly in our local high schools, and typically during evening hours to accommodate those who have other obligations during the common workday hours. What interest have you thought about pursuing but you have not yet actually taken the first step? Drawing upon local community members and life-long students in their own study, we offer courses in personal finance and the stock market. Maybe you have an interest in learning some kind of home improvement skill, such as woodworking or gardening? We offer courses in sewing, basket making, and knitting. How about something in the fine arts, like jewelry making, painting or photography? We also provide opportunities for people to learn Spanish or sign lan- guage.
