(North Haven, CT) -- A large group of transportation advocates are hosting a breakfast to recognize the members of the Congressional Delegation for years of steadfast support and leadership on transportation issues in Congress. The Delegation’s efforts will provide five years of stable, dependable federal transportation funding for Connecticut.

The U.S. House and Senate overwhelmingly approved the “Fixing America’s Surface Transportation Act” or FAST Act, which reauthorizes the federal surface transportation programs through 2020 on December 3, 2015. The final vote represented the culmination of incredibly hard work by members of Congress that have been pushing for long-range, stable, transportation funding for nearly 10 years. The five-year, $305 billion measure provides Connecticut with apportionments exceeding $500 million each year under the act.

An expected 250 transportation advocates from Chambers of Commerce, the construction industry, building trades, transit groups, metropolitan planning organizations, and environmental interests will be in attendance.
