From performances at London’s iconic Wembley Stadium to appearing alongside on “Late Night With Jimmy Fallon,” DJ Dainjazone is making his mark on music cultures across the globe. The performer caught the attention of electro pop mega duo LMFAO after the release of his mix tape “Leader of the New School” and secured himself a highly coveted spot as the resident DJ for their popular Party Rock Crew. DJ Dainjazone now holds residencies in , , and at the most marquee nights in those cities, as well as tours non-stop for his fans.

Q: What type of traveler are you? (i.e., adventurer, cultural explorer, free spirit, rejuvenator, spa aficionado, etc.)

A: I think I tackle all categories when I travel. I love to wander off on my own. If I feel my body needs treatment then I’ll hit the spa and get a massage. I look forward to shopping in major cities. If I'm dead tired I will stay in and catch up on rest, and if I have work to do I won't leave the hotel for days and do some workouts and laptop stuff.

Q: What types of activities do you like to do on your travels? Do you look for a place where it's quiet and you can relax or someplace that has great activities or nightlife?

A: If we stay near a beach, I am on the sand soaking it up. I like to hang out at pools and read in the sun as well. If I'm in a city that has a ton of things to do, such as Las Vegas, I’ll bounce around and experience the most I can. If the city has unique adventures then chances are I am experiencing them as well.

Q: When thinking about where you will travel to next, what inspires you to make a decision? And what, if any, research do you do about that destination?

A: Work comes first. I have to think of the work I’ll be getting into. If I like the club and the people who monitor the club and the pay is right, I will commit to that situation, whether it is in the middle of nowhere or in a big city. I have to consider what's best for my career before I consider what's on the bucket list of cities in which to travel. I travel to some of the most gorgeous cities in the world because [LMFAO member] gets booked in these areas. I go where he goes.

Q: What is the most memorable trip you've taken and why?

A: Probably Cannes for the film festival. You can't forget the beauty of the city, the beach, the shops, and the views. The water is always warm, and there was no time for sleep. I wanted to be up early to experience everything I could. I found peace in just wandering around.

Q: What is the best food you've ever found on a trip?

A: We always eat well when we tour. I can't recall a single place that really sticks out. The more expensive locations usually have great steaks and sushi. I’d say Japan, Cancun, Cannes, and Vegas.

Q: What, if anything, do you always take with you when you travel?

A: I'm like a mom when I travel. I have little travel pieces for any situation. CVS and Walgreens are brilliant for providing an easy opportunity to acquire 99-cent and $1.29 packs of powder, Tums, Band-Aids, toothpaste, etc. They're life savors.

Q: What's your best piece of travel advice?

A: When I travel I'm usually gone for two weeks or more. In order to not break your back with heavy luggage you have to consider what you should and shouldn't bring. I typically bring a week’s worth of underwear, and I'm not ashamed to say I sometimes wear them two or three days straight if I'm not sweating up a storm. Same thing with shirts. I use low-cut socks because regular long socks take up space and are heavier. I bring a pair of lightweight workout shoes and a regular pair of shoes for the events. I roll my clothes as oppose to folding them; it creates more space and if rolled correctly you won't wrinkle your shirts. Stocking up on hygiene products is key. Traveling can be exhausting and the last thing you want to do is brush your teeth; you might not have time. So keep a pack of floss and a pack of those mini toothbrushes with induced toothpaste or mouthwash on hand. I love those little things.

Q: Is there a destination where you can't imagine not returning?

A: Tokyo, Australia, and Cannes. I will make time for these areas of the world if we don't have work there. Usually we hit all the major areas once a year so I think I'm OK.

Q: Where are your favorite weekend getaways?

A: Sometimes spending time in my house does the trick. I travel so much it’s nice to spend a weekend where I live. I don't mind drives to San Diego to visit friends. It’s also one of my favorite cities to travel to, and I'm only two-and-a-half hours away.

Q: Where would you like to travel to next?

A: I'd love to hit Puerto Rico, Brazil, and Hawaii. These are destinations I've yet to experience, and they all have beaches. I'm learning the beach is my thing. But I would love to revisit Barcelona, Cannes, Corsica, and Ibiza.

Q: Tell us about your upcoming project(s)?

A: I'm hosting a mix tape produced by Grammy winners Play-N-Skillz called "Trap Hard ." The tracks and verses are all original. Artists making appearances on the mix tape include French Montana, Problem, Ty Dolla Sign, Paul Wall, Bun B, , Dorrough, and Sean Harris. I’ll continue to tour with Redfoo and the La Freak Crew. We have tours in Europe, Australia, and South Africa all on the horizon, not to mention my solo performances around the .
