The music of Buenos Aires par excellence, whose origins were in the city’s slums during the 1880’s. Inhabited by Italian and Spanish immigrants, blacks and gauchos, the city’s slums gave rise to a racial mix known as ‘COMPADRITOS’ (smalltime hoods) who reflected in their music and dance the unique characteristics of the neighborhoods in which they lived.
